• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This is how you get a closer look...are you kidding me?

On my lunch break heading back to the shop from home and on the highway heading back into the city I look in my rear view mirror and noticed a 3 axle dump truck in the the distance. A very short time later this truck is blowing through the 50 km/h zone, coming up from behind hot only to come up along side me on the right shoulder (I was in the right lane) to have a closer look at me and give me a nod. I couldn't believe this, all I could do is shake my head as my you know what puckered up. I drive 22-wheelers on my days off casually for some relaxation, and I wouldn't dream of pulling a stunt like that. Venting...I will be better by the time I have to drive home.

It is very irritating when you are doing 10 over, and somebody still feels the need to tailgate you. Spyders are few and far between here in Chenango county and I get a lot of that. I like to get them into the twisties and leave them in my wake. I think the worst drivers though, are the ones that are ahead of you staring into their rear-view mirror instead of watching the road.

Just sayin'............

Other driver trying to get a good look at my Spyder drives me crazy! Every time this happens they are to busy looking at the Spyder and not the road, hence them crossing into my lane or slamming on there breaks to miss an object in the road or car. I always try to slow down to let them pass.....but that doesn't always work so I just gun it and say bye bye baby. :banghead:

:yikes:
My entire life has revolved around vehicles, and the road, the track, and the sky. The things I see on the road these days make me question the wisdom of that...every day. Drivers are getting dumber, they no longer think while they drive (usually on auto-pilot with the phone in their ear and a cup in their hand). They have incredibly bad habits, and even worse judgement. I may become a hermit after the new house is built. I'm perfectly sane, but those people are crazy! ;)

I agree with you totally. Drivers are getting dumber and more careless when they drive. I see bad driving habits every day in my chosen line of work and fortunately I get to interact with them and send them on their way with a little gift....People have forgotten that vehicles kill, injure and disable people when their 3000-80000 pound weapon goes out of control. There are too many distractions when people drive, radios, cell phones, laptops, food and any other activity that keeps their attention from safely operating their vehicle. I can't tell you how many people have excuses for their bad driving habits as well as blame others for what they do. I find that the longer you have had your license the more you forget about basic driving rules. Crashes involving autos and tractor and trailers is up and these fools don't seem to notice. Motorcycle riding has become more dangerous than ever due to these idiots so we must definitely be more aware of who is around us. I'm just glad that except for a minor scare all worked out and the genius driving that truck didn't end up hitting you.

My favorites are the ones who fly up beside you and then hit the brakes in order to take a picture. It might not be so bad if it was a passenger in the car or truck trying to take the picture, but no it is the driver of the vehicle using their cell phone. I am usually a very nice guy, but will readily admit that at least 2 of those drivers should have a picture that includes the middle finger salute from my left hand. :banghead:

A lot of the fellow 18 wheelers scare me these days. I see a lot of them, typing on laptops, watching xxx rated movies ( or so I would assume) while driving, phone glued to their ears, eating plates or bowls of food, etc. A big part of the problem is a lot of the experienced drivers left the industry during the recession, and were replaced by Ill trained idiots who I couldn't trust to ride a bicycle. It's a shame that my industry (trucking)was once an honorable profession, and now it's regarded as a dead end job to be filled by cheap labor.:ani29:

I also am a somewhat retired driver. We get people trying time after time after time trying to back a 25-30 pup from the street with enough room to safely position a 53 footer, and THEY can't seem to do it. Actually had one guy have to leave his cab and back this other guys trailer up to the dock plate. Now it even seems to be the norm to open the drivers door and hang out the side of the cab to back in ??????????? HUH... How the Hell did you ever pass your road test to begin with.It is truly a very sad state of affairs.

Reading a book

We were on our way home from Tallahassee FL to Daytona Beach FL on our GW and my wife decided to read a book. So we stopped and she dug it out and we resumed our travel. She propped the book on my back and proceeded to commence reading. After 20 minutes she had to give up as it was creating a safety issue with people slowing down to take pictures. We exited the Interstate and resumed the trip home on the secondary roads.
