• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This is about to get real ... so here come the questions

I don’t worry much about leaving my helmet hooked on a handlebar or on the seat. Most people with ill intent seem to understand that a large bike likely comes with a large biker they don’t want to piss off...

I don't worry about my helmet either. If Spyder's going to be out of sight I may put my Sena in the trunk. I take it into the hotel overnight when touring.

If you live in or are riding through a "helmets required" state, and somebody does take the helmet off your bike, you will be left to ride (illegally) without a helmet to some place which sells helmets to replace the helmet. During off hours or weekends, this could be a major problem. I am not so concerned about losing a well worn helmet off the bike as being left without a helmet 100 miles up into a state that has "helmet required for all" laws. Putting a small gun lock on might stop someone just walking by from deciding they need the helmet more than I do. It would not be worth that much if they did take it, but the problems it could cause, being left without a helmet in some rural areas of "helmet required" states could be a problem.

Possible, but not probable. Same for a tire blowout, or connecting rod busting, or any one of thousands of possible disasters. We all have to balance for our own comfort the level of risk we're willing to live with. I leave my helmet on the seat with my jacket draped over it. I don't worry about the low probability, maybe 0.01%, of someone taking it. Now, as far as running out of gas. That has a 100% probability of happening if I don't take preventive action by filling the tank!

I suppose if I had an expensive communication device on mine I would feel different though.
We have J&M setups in our helmets. The full set of speakers, microphone and two cords (upper and lower) might actually cost more than the helmet, but it's not going to bankrupt me if it goes 'missing'. That said, we typically set the helmet on the seat, if it will be stable enough, or set it over the mirror on my bike. Overnight, they definitely go into the room with us.

No idea how much the Sena or Cardo systems cost, as they do not appeal to me, so I have nothing to compare with.

I have carried 3 full face helmets on my 2020. Two in the top box side by side and one in the right saddle bag. Currently on our trip I have my wife's extra full face in it's soft bag in my top box and when we stop I put my full face next to it (after moving my ball cap, large water bottle, gloves, and wipe down rag), It all fits.
