• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

this guy spent some money on his or her spyder

So, lemme get this straight...if someone says positive things, we're good to go...everyone is happy.

If someone says something negative, it should not be said at all as it might offend someone?

Also, I would hardly call the forum a place for 'creativity and humanity'...it's a chat board, for Pete's sake...those who write 'that's ugly', 'fugly' or whatever, are simply commenting...they have a right to do so...

:gaah:

I've always been fascinated by sharks...esp. land sharks...better than glow in the dark blue handlebars...but, that's just me. :ohyea:

The guy that customized that bike also did my bike. That was what the owner wanted so thats what he got. As you can see from my photos for the new Black Widow, I don't really care for chrome but a lot of people love it. The way we customize our bikes really is an extension of you, so it is what you like. No one else has to live with it but you, so make yourself happy.:2thumbs:

Reminds me of the 'ugly baby' Seinfeld episode----- :yikes:.

People say things online that they never would in person and you can never really read a persons 'tone' online. Never take anything too seriously - especially online!:ohyea:

If I saw a fugly bike in person I certainly wouldn't say so to the person - I would kindly wait until they were gone and then comment behind his back to my friends about the gross unsightliness.:ohyea::D

I'm afraid that I agree that comments do not have to be "brutally honest." There is a polite way to say that you don't care for things someone else has done. I don't think any of the comments here really rose to the level of flames, but they were not sugar-coated, either. A little tact can go a long way to making new friends feel at home here. A quick look in the mods section will show you that we all have different tastes and styles. Let's all try to remember that.

As a frequent bike show head judge, I run into the question of personal taste quite often. I tell my fellow judges to remember that the workmanship is what counts, not a judge's personal taste or even his opinion of artistic interpretation. "Is what was done, done well?" "Does the custom work fit the vehicle." Those are the key questions, not "Do you like chrome or advertising?" (End of rant.)

What if you saw a fugly person with a nice looking bike?

I wish someone had told me my first wife was fugly... before I married her! :gaah::roflblack:

...If I see something I don't like I either don't say anything about it or will state in so many words, "it's not my cup of tea but congrats on getting what you wanted" (unless its a jeuchler post, then I'll be brutally honest ...

I agree.

Wait--what?!
