• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This fell off my bike. Anybody recognize it?

This fell off my F3-T while I was under it replacing the sway bar. Any idea what this cap is supposed to cover?

It seems to have a barbed tab to, perhaps, grip some sort of clip and the other half is filled with some sort of porous sponge stuff.

Curious. ....

What makes you sure it fell off your spyder..? Being a part of something it may not show up like that could show up as a unit...the sponge may indicate a breather of some kind..:dontknow:

Did you mean....

Well the black web/sponge looking stuff is similar to what was around the TEMP SENSOR on my RT......I would check a parts FICHE from either PROCALIBER.COM or CHEAPPARTS.COM and try and identify it that way..........Mike

Cheapcycleparts.com. ..? I like them.. will have to check the other. ..

This may sound silly but it could be a breather / vent cover for one of the light assemblies.

It sponge type material in the pic looks similar to the Australian ones

Just a thought

Cheers

If you cant find where it goes on bike it could be simply something that fell into the :yikes:VOID, & you accidentally opened the exit door:dontknow::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::2thumbs:

My magnifying glass failed to reveal details but my lovely wife suggested I use my camera. Apparently it has more pixels than my eyes 'cause here it is.

As you might be able to see, it says "Hella". It's something to do with lighting.

I've emailed the Hella company and asked what this little cap is supposed to cover. That might be revealing.

Good detective work. That is a vent cap for the headlight or fog lights. I worked for a competitor years ago and they had something similar. It would be a good idea to find where it goes and put it back on. It is supposed to allow air in and out of the light but not let water in.

So part of the reflector housing? The silver part?

Billybovine pegged it, I think and Lamonster's video confirmed it, I hope. If you watch carefully...

I'll have to dig into it either an evening or, more likely, this weekend early when it's still cool.

UPDATE: Circled another after looking at Billybovine's diagram.
