• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Third update for the GS

GA-SPYDER

New member
Took the :spyder2:in today for an intermittant check engine light. I was getting this after I had the first update and the "update to the update". Dealer said that it was the 02 sensor and would have to order it.
The other thig that they said was that there is a new update that came out on 12/22/09. They ran it and said that all is good, except for the 02 sensor.
Anybody heard of a new software update?

Sounds more like a diagnostic update than a application update. Both would be a software change but not necessarily a change to the software on the machine itself.

Dealer hadn't heard of it or seen it posted, as of today. Said they'd check further.
10-4, Scotty.
I haven't seen too many posts on issues with the 02 sensor. Hoping that I can get them to send it to me. Simple install. They did that with the canister vent hose update.

I wish the software revision would scroll on the dash when starting or at least give us a read-only version of BUDS. When I got my Spyder back last month, the service manager said he downloaded the lastest update. When I asked if it was the performance update, all I got was a :dontknow:

It's probably because I'm a software quality analyst, but when someone put's software on my Spyder, I'd like to know what it is.

I am about tired of these updates... :lecturef_smilie:

I can understand people getting tired. But I'm not sure if it's the 2 updates that are wearing people out or the few thousand posts talking about the 2 updates.

For me at least, its the updates. I love hearing other peoples spyder tales. It lets me know that I didnt imagine the troubles I have had with mine.

There was an update after the steering recall that was termed an engine optimization update or something like that. It was meant to fix issues that some Spyders, including mine, had after applying the recall fix. The Spyder would run roughly and surge between 3,000 and 4,000 rpm.

According to most of what we are reading on here, it doesn't sound like there is a third update that actually needs to be applied to the Spyder yet. Key word here is yet.
