• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Third Time The Charm?

I am hoping it is.

Background -
When I made the deal on my 14 part of it was the BRP comfort heated seat. What I discovered was that it took more passenger room away than was comfortable. So I sold that.

The second seat was the Ultimate with white inserts, fuel door, and backrest. Sadly that turn out to put pressure on my upper thighs causing pain. So I sent that back and they refunded my money.

Well for my third and final try I have ordered a Russell Day-Long saddle in black with leather inserts, back rest, and heated. Build date is 12/15 so I am banking on 3 is the charm.

I have owned Day-Longs in the past on Harley's so I know how good they are and with their 8 month warranty I have little to lose except the take off seat that I purchased from a member, but that is what I bought it for.

HOPE THIS ONE WORKS OUT

And for about $ 20 you add the GAS DOOR fairly easily .....( just make sure of where they have the wires and heating element )...Find my How to do it Post ( with PICS now ).........Mike

i have had a few heated seats and never turned them on. good luck

My first expeareance with a heated seat was on a 1999 BMW 1200RT. I was sold on them after riding all day in wet 40 dergree temps across Montana. Since then I get them when I can as my wife likes her buns toasted  Did I just say that out loud?

Really..!!!

8 month warranty...interesting number..:dontknow: have heard a lot about their seats and this should be the charm. Good luck..

Finding the right seat can be a difficult thing. Hoping your third try will be the charm.

I have not yet found the "perfect" seat and have pretty much given up on the hunt.

I have a funny story about a friend and his heated seat but I can't tell you. Murphybrown knows the story too. :roflblack:

I just submitted an order for a Russell yesterday. Ordered the same seat you did (black with leather inserts), with riders backrest but no heat. My Road Star has an Ultimate that I've been pretty happy with, but I figured I would try the Russell this time. I like the idea that it's custom built to your specs and if you're not satisfied, they'll adjust the seat. Also, with their 15% off deal, it was cheaper than an Ultimate.
