• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thinking of upgrading

Sadly passed away, December '23.
I have my eyes on a 2018 RT Limited with a little over 11,000 miles. Asking 22K down from 23K. Any thoughts on "warning signs" or things to look out for?

I'm looking at a 2018 RT Limited Chrome Edition with a little over 11,000 miles on the clock. Asking price is $22,000 down from $23,000. Is there anything I might want to be concerned with, things to look out for with the bike? Any thoughts will be appreciated.

That’s seems a bit high in my opinion. Maybe different on west coast but I see a brand new 18 advertised at motomemer champagne and black for 21000. Great bike though. It’s the first year for the electric dash and auto rear self leveling. Nothing else changed accept gps removed as standard feature and put in dash and usb was removed from trunk with integrated iPod system also removed. Everything went Bluetooth that year. 17-19 was bulletproof in my opinion accept minor electronic with new changes. I know all the prices of used went up but I bought my 17 limited new in March of 18 for 22750 out the door with the 4 year best warranty

11k is just broken in based on this forum's consensus!
Check to see if any upgrades were done - like tires, sway bar, shocks, lighting. Down the road you'll be looking for some of those and more.
Look for the obvious, oil leaks, belt, brakes, tire wear, engine sound, etc.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll probably go over on Tuesday to kick the tires and run it around the block Actually I'll probably take it a little further then around the block. Good point on checking for upgrades, didn't think of that.

Think about saving your nickels for a bit yet and looking at a left over or pre driven 20. I saw one for sale on site for 25 with lotsa farkles. For the extra 2-3 thou I think you may be glad you did! Went from 18 to 20 myself and I can say the 20 is better in more than a couple ways. IMHO

CopperSpyder is right Greg, go to iMotorsport’s general email, ask to be contacted by Thomas Palmer only. Send Thomas an email once you get through to his email account and tell him you want a smoking deal on a 2021 RT or RT Limited, see what kind of numbers he shows you. You will be pleasantly surprised. 2021 is considered a leftover model, if not right now, it will be in the weeks to come. Patience is a virtue

Forgot to mention- Tell Thomas you are a SpyderLover member. Then they’ll waive set up, etc. RT & RTL Dark lists $1500 less than the Chrome model for further savings

I'm on the same page - you aren't saving enough to be in a pre-2000 model, at least unless you are one of the few who prefers that design. A little more for a new models is probably worth it, at least unless there have been significant upgrades that you would otherwise also want to do.
