• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thinking of doing something crazy

Save he cash every month and pay for any repairs that may come along. I bet the savings pile will be much higher than the "spent on repairs" pile. Besides, with a paid off machine, you can repair, service and farkle it without having to worry about what impact it may have on the warranty.

I have a 2011 Pure Magnesium Metallic RT-S SE5. Velocity has a Lave Bronze 2013 RT Limited avail. I fell in love with the Lave Bronze when I first saw it. My spyder is paid for. The payments would be $230.00-$250.00 a month for 7 years (:yikes:).
DO THE MATH!!!!!!!!! They want your 2011 and between $22,000-$24,000. Are you that unhappy with your current ride, or so in love with the Lava Brown Limited???????????? Like people say, it's your choice how you want to spend your money. Just go into it with eyes wide open. Let us know what you decide.
Good Luck
Mike

Color doesn't seem like a very valid reason to trade a good vehicle (or buy a new one in the first place). I'll freely admit that it can be an attraction, and that it can easily seal a deal, but it shouldn't be the primary consideration (or the only one), in my opinion. The several thousands of dollars in difference will pay for a nice paintjob...or a bunch of vinyl wrap graphics. JMHO

I am also of the opinion that a paid off vehicle (if still in good running condition) is a whole lot better than a new payment and a committment of 7 years before its yours. Also, as others have said, you can do a lot of things with the money you are not committed to spending. lt's your call.

Wishing all goes well with whatever decision you make.

Spending other peoples' money is actually more fun than picking on your kid sister when nobody's looking! :roflblack:

I need cooler heads to either talk me out of it or hot heads to say H:cus: yeah, go for it!!! :chat: HELP!!!!!
All i can recommend is that you test drive it for as long a trip as they will let you to be sure you like the way it handles they are nothing like the 2011. Voice of experience I would like to have my 2011 back.

Well, having slept on it (work nites), and talked to the hubby (Tobor 9) I finally decided and here's the result:600643_471107712964118_727201399_n-1.jpg I decided to keep my baby (or she decided to keep me!) We have gotten used to each other in over 2 years and I really didn't want or need another long term payment on anything!!! And like Shreck said, might not even like the way it handles and that would be a BIG PITA! Thanks for all the replies and the amusement!!! Hope to see you all at Maggie Valley!!! Can't wait!!!

If you're going to Do Something Crazy at least wait for a 2014 to dive into yrs of new payments. From what I have seen I sure would hesitate on a 2013...

Think you made the right decision in this case...

STOP !!!!!

You will take a bath on the one you have if you trade it in, It's paid for.
You can have your Spyder painted any color you want for under $800.00
at most any good qualified automotive body shop. You will have the color you
want on a paid for machine ... NO PAYMENTS
DO THE MATH
good luck

1) I take it your 2011 Spyder works fine, is reliable and is not ugly

2) while the 2013 is a technical improvent it is not significantly different that a few upgrades could not bring your 2011 to a pretty close approximation.

3) this the big one $240 a month for 7 years is $20,160. Is this with your trade in? Are you kidding me? Your 2011 is still worth at least $17,000 to $18,000 plus the above so in 7 years you would have paid $37,160 to $38,160 just to change color?

so my answer is NO NO NO! Take $1,500 and buy the best Elka Shocks for fron and back, take another $200 for Baja Ron Sway bar. Add a really high quality custom paint job say $1,800 and add a brown seat if you like for $500. While we are at it add CB Intercom and GPS for another $2,000. Total spent $6,000 for a total revamp of your bike. That's a saving of at least $14,160 over your payments. And your bike is still paid for. Good luck with your choice.

trade

I would keep the older bike if its dependable because you,ll regret it if the new one breaks down as it seems most are having troubles with dependability and quality issues but a new one is always nice if that wont bother you good Luck Rich
