The P38 was THE best can opener ever made. And yes, it'd even open a beer can (before pull tabs). They came in every box of C rats. Even worked as a common screwdriver in a pinch. Anyone remember the cigs that came with the rats? Pall Malls, Lucky Strikes, Camels and, if you were lucky, Marlboros. MREs can't compare to those little cardboard boxes.

I don't remember the cigarettes with the ''C''s, But that was 45 years ago, We got full cartons with the Sundry's drop, Every 4 /5 days, Also Batteries for my Pic 25.
Oh yea ammo too, And water, Some times the slicks drop it right though the triple canopy.
I do remember the little peanut butter cans , They made great Sterno by adding mosquito repellent to them,.
