• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

things I would like to see on RT

I wonder what percentage of owners are changing the sway bar? Why not make it an option. It can't cost much more to increase the diameter. Same with the exhaust tone.

23 comments and not one yet about the tires...

I know what I would like to see. There was a post like this a while back where I mentioned my ideas.

I don't have some of the stuff, some of the ideas I have fabricated myself, but overall, I decided to play the best cards I am dealt.

It is expensive, the machines are not perfect, the QC is not perfect, the dealer network is marginal in some areas, the quality of the technicians skills is a huge split form the worst to the best.

Without any doubt, we could have spent more and been a lot worse off. This Spyder has kind of grown into something I enjoy. Mainly since it is a machine for the wife and I, plus it has been cool to sort out some of the issues in the way I would have wanted them done.

Still working on the wife to let me buy more tools...need the laser alignment stuff, a BUDS setup and more electronics so I can disable at least the DESS.

Better net work of technicians , stero should have plug ins for head sets and should be blue toothed its 2015,usb plugs.

I'd like to see:

Better, bigger screen (so I can actually read it while driving).

Better headlights (LED's all the way would be nice).

Eliminate the "delay" when starting up.

Better access to the interior mechanics.

A Clymer manual (it's difficult to take off the Tupperware...at least for the first time).

A bit more storage room in back.

And last but not least.....a better horn (It's so wimpy, that I'm ashamed to use it).

John:

Remember last time you made a wish like that and failed to be precise??? Carrot Head is available.

1. longer mud flap for rear wheel so it doesn't sling slop in rainy weather
2. full floor boards (such as the Seal boards)
3. MUCH better anti-sway bar and front shocks/springs (better handling)
4. MUCH better visibility via lights from all four sides
5. digital voltmeter and oil pressure gauge
6. relocate rear wheel Schrader valve
7. better seals on all bags, frunk and trunk and MUCH better latches
8. precise alignment from the factory

I have a full size 2x modular with a G9x bluetooth on the side. The helmet fits in the frunk and in the larger of the 2 saddlebags just fine. I can get a half helm in the other saddlebag.
This was news to me. I thought they were the same size. I just went down stairs and tried getting my Fulmer modular helmet in. It fit on the right side, but not the left. Guess I learn something new every day. Thanks!:2thumbs:

boy oh boy, ask for 1 simple red head and people talk more about that then what the tread was about. OK I WILL ALSO TAKE ANY LADY WITH A PULSE

The right side storage compartment is a bit deeper than the one on the left...
This might be a throwback to when the battery was located at the left rear side of the bike.

I agree with a quicker warm-up time before the bike can start.

Concerning the drive shaft - I've had bikes with a belt and bikes with a shaft and really couldn't tell a difference. The differential does soak up some energy and is in general less efficient, but it would require less maintenance.

These are all nice ideas and practical. Good Job.

just a couple of things.,

Better fuel economy would be nice on trips...and I sure wish there was an existing accessory wire behind that plug on the center of the handlebar, man that would be nice..Come to think of it the standard RT Would be much better with the adjustable handlebar as a stock item...maybe a longer lasting stock rear tire.....Overall I love this thing so it's shortcomings are not a real issue anyhow....
