• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

things I would like to see on RT

There are about three improvement's I would like to see on the RT. First it would help a lot to have a shorter turning radius. Next, I think use a drive shaft to replace the belt, would be a big improvement. Next the main information screen, should be lit in color, like it is at night, this would be a big improvement. Let's hear from some of the rest of you on these suggestions. Thanks: maybe some one they will listen to, let them know how we feel.

i think your ideas are good on the drive shaft, the screen being the night time color all the time, there has to be a sensor that we can cover to do that, i also think the hand brake should be a option so it can be incorporated into the existing system, and lastly a better back rest system. the one they have pushes me too far forward. other that that i am happy with the bike

I'd like to see improved switches.

  • I'd like to see improved switches. The turn signal switch and the cruise control switch both barely move and provide no tactile feedback. How about switches that actually click when they're pressed?
  • The stock seat could really use some work. For what an RT costs I can't image the profit margin is too small to put a better saddle on the bike.
  • It would be nice if the low beam could be configured so that people in front of me would stop thinking I'm blinking my high beams at them.

on each side of the bike there is adjustment cables to adjust the height of the head lamps. i am sure you know this, so adjust them a lil lower. i have never had anyone say my lights are flashing at them and i agree with the seat idea

The 2014 pretty much gave me everything I was looking for on the RT.

Agree that seating could be much better. Not everyone will be pleased with standard seating, but it seams that most go for upline (BRP Comfort) or aftermarket seats early on. The current seating is to mushy. The factory testers should try rides over 100 miles and see how their butts are feeling then.

A premium sound system should be included on a $30K machine. We did not buy a Wal-Mart version of :spyder2:.

One side saddlebag is supposed to fit a full face helmet. A bit larger would still be better.

full size helmet storage on an RT-S

I have a full size 2x modular with a G9x bluetooth on the side. The helmet fits in the frunk and in the larger of the 2 saddlebags just fine. I can get a half helm in the other saddlebag.

:agree: I also have 2X modular with Sena 20s and it fits nicely in the right side (right hand as driver sits) rear saddle bag

+1
Just seems for the cost the quality ( espcially the electronics) should be better.

improvements

I wish things like the clock, thermometer, and odometer were a little larger.
If it had a compass that would be nice too.
A hand brake would sure be useful backing it out of the garage and turning off the cruise, but $1400 ooouuuuch...

A voltmeter would be nice
A tranny with overdrive so that we can cruise on the highway at less than a gas guzzling 4,200 RPM
Better sound system
An option for a heated seat without being forced to the comfort seat

That's all I can think of right now...

I wish for a little less whine, oh wait a minute, that ain't the Spyder. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I love my Spyder, BRP please do not make too many changes.

Drive shaft, better radio would be nice. Sirius xm compatable should be a must! The stock seat works fine for me. I can run through a couple tanks before I really need to take a break. Maybe my butt has dead spots from the early years on all them Triumphs and Harleys. But the one thing I can not under stand is why BRP did not include a plug in for a Gps on the dash?? :banghead: fter all they do advertise this bike as the better touring machine ??. Even my 650 burgman had one in the glove compartment.

It may be nitpicking, but I'd love to see some BRP aftermarket handgrip options meant for the spyder, better seat quality, and self-cancelling turn signals! Other than that, I'm pretty happy with it and can spend the extra $$ for 3rd party aftermarket items.
