They tell me I made history today

Well folks I passed my road test for the new three wheel endorsement in the state of Colorado. Effective July 1, 2008 Colorado has a new endorsement for those of us on three wheels. This saves someone like myself that is not a two wheel fan from having to take and pass a two wheel course in order to ride my Spyder. There are those out there that argue we shouldnt need anything to ride the Spyder as in other states but nontheless its the law here in Colorado.

So I did 4 manuevers for the instructor and he gave me the certificate to take to the DMV on Monday. With a smile he informed me that I am the first to complete this in the state and will be the first 3 wheel endorsement issued in the history of the state. So I had my moment of glory thinking that finally I was the first to accomplish something!!(even if it is just a formality):yes:

That is funny. Very cool. I recently went and got my MC in NC. I showed up the first time and the guy said, I will fail you in that thing. I went a second time and got a different person, same office. After she got off the floor laughing at my attempt, I pleaded my case. If the great state of NC determines my vehicle is a motorcycle, and the book states it is NC recommendation to take the road test in the vehicle that you will be using every day. I also tossed in some other BS I thought might work. She went and got her supervisor, she laughed. They called someone with the state, they laughed and just said, remove the outside comes. So basically, I had to make sure I did not fall up the bike by laughing so much and not hit anyone. They ever said..ok..on this test, you can't back up..so I went to the end and then around the parking lot because I didn't have room to turn around. They passed with me a normal MC license. Strange.

We (in Calif.) heard rumors that other states were thinking of changing laws due to so many people buying alternate modes of transportation. I went through the Calif. motorcycle class and got my m1 license anyway...so there is no question, no matter what state I visit.

That sounds like the riding test here in Memphis. I just had to ride around the parking lot and not fall off or hit anyone. The lady didn't even watch me she just turned around and started talking to someone when I started moving.

In Arizona I was told all different things.

At the time I rode a sidecar rig. I was told that if I took a course, I would not have to take the ridden portion of the MC endorsement. Since no one offers that course for 3 wheels in AZ, off I went to Oregon. This actually was pretty good for me, since we have family up there.

Then, when I came home, certificate in hand, and went to the MVD, the guy at the counter says to me, "What's this?" Off he goes to check with the supervisor. Yep, you guessed it, I have to take the ridden test after all.

The guy there just told me to keep the bike within the cones, don't worry about the sidecar. Okay, whatever you say! I now have my motorcycle endorsement.

And you would not believe how bad the guy was that was there taking his test as well, on 2 wheels. And he passed. Scary :shocked:
