There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. These helmet speakers ROCK!

Well I think I finally found something that can really blast tunes! I don't use a fancy expensive helmet and don't do the bluetooth thing just yet. I was wearing earbuds for a while but they tend to hurt after an hour or so. I went here and ordered these speakers w/ their mini amp. The amp cranks up the volume by 400% EASY. Now I've only tried them in the house but I'll be riding w/ these shortly and will report. I cranked these and they were LOUD. Just plug in to any mp3. Cool thing is - they are loud but affordable and won't hurt your ears like some buds do.

$99 you can't go wrong. Were reviewed on the 'net as really good.

If you value your hearing, you may want to take a different route. Instead of overriding the noise with louder speakers, why don't you try using a type of musicians monitor that reduces the ambient noise. You can get very small ones, or even have them custom fit to your ear so they don't hurt. It is certainly going to be more expensive than what you're looking at, but I'd be willing to pay in order to hear in the future.

Too late - hearing is already bad. For HDX and I, everything we say outta our mouths is HUH? Then we have to repeat ourselves and yell it.

Must be all that riding over the years and blasting music.

Thanks for the advice. I always wear musicians earplugs. This set of speakers and amp is a good value that I might not have found. :2excited: maybe I'll ask for them for Christmas.

If I ride w/ a shorty I can do the earbuds but for some reason w/ a 3/4 or full face I have a problem getting the helmet over my head after the buds are in - usually knocks them loose or they start to hurt. These speakers got good reviews and the amp is unbelievable. It's tiny too!

That's great...so if the decibel level of riding doesn't make you go deaf, then blasting tunes will...
:shocked:

Kjen and I are not into music while traveling, but these sound really good for a great price. We tried noise suppressing plugs when we read about hearing going south when riding a motorcycle for too long. Couldn't wait to get home and trash them. They were the cheapy foam rollups, but it was not the feel, it was the unbalance feel from not being able to hear. We love hearing noises as we ride...it's nature at it's best. And my ears are still doing their job after 40+ years on motorcycles. Maybe always riding with stock mufflers helped?

I've had these running off my gps with the mp3 and they sounded decent for about 3 months .Then they started cutting out first one side then it quit I replaced it with another speaker from a old headset, then a couple of weeks later the other one quit.I didn't have the booster they were loud enough without,but they just didn't last.I got them off ebay for $36. so i'm not out a whole lot.Hope you have better luck.

Yes!

I use these everyday and they pump!

You may not need the amp, I use them with HEAROs and they still sound good while at high cruising speeds.
The speakers plug to a little connector that has an inline volume control. That part is really crappy and will fail on you. First you will start hearing static when adjusting the volume, then one side will cut in and out. I threw mine away and just bought an extension to run it straight in to the iPhone. The little volume control actually also robs you of power so they get louder with out it.

I love that they are not just "loud" but have full range.
Best is when the shuffle puts on some thing like Wish You Were Here and I'm riding in to work with a sunrise next to me.

When I'm out with a short or with no lid at all, I hold them to my ears with a headband. If you plan on wearing them for over an hour, stop at Garganos and get the $10 bacalava. That way they wont rub in to your ears.

This is the next step;
I'm looking at ordering their throat mike and the PTT, then running it all to the iphone

or you can run it in to one of these;
