• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thermo Imaging of the Spyder RT

On the way home from Sturgis I stopped by my friends house near Nashville for a visit. He has a new business that he's pretty excited about and he wanted to give me a taste of how it works. I told him to put something together with all the info and I would post it here. This is the short version of what it can do.

These pics have very little data displayed but they can give you a temp reading down to the pixel. This thing is crazy and there are all sorts of practical uses for it like finding leaks in your house where hot or cold air is escaping. We were just playing around but what I did see was pretty cool..or hot depending on how you look at it. :doorag:

updated with more data= http://www.nashvillethermalimaging.com/spyder/

This was my seat right after a ride. As you can see the heat is pretty much spread out evenly over the area I was sitting. That's a good sign that the seat was built right.

This is after it cooled down

Here you can see the heat all around the seat

This is a pic of the block off plate above and open below

This is the $6,000.00 camera taking the shots

This is my 180.00 camera taking this shot, I didn't need his camera to tell his wife Tammie was hot ;)

And here's a little video of him shooting this. There will be more detailed pics with explanations to follow.

Infrared imaging is pretty cool stuff. (no pun intended) I am currently doing digital infrared thermal imaging medical research of the blood flow from the pre- frontal cortex to the amygdala, for my doctoral studies. I am hoping to discover bio-markers , for differentiating unipolar depression from bipolar depression.

Judging by patdcops post he's somewhere in Siberia or Finland or Turkey!!!!!
Can someone translate that into English/American??

Thermal imaging is a great tool. We used to use it annually on all our prime movers and large machinery, as well as for detecting impending grout failure in the brick lining of our incinerators. Saving a 1,000 horsepower centrifugal blower at the stage when a bearing is close to failure, instead of a complete rebuild after it self-destructs, can save $30,000. Well worth having professional imaging done on a regular basis.
