• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

There you have it...!!!

I have yet to talk to anyone who likes daylight savings --- what a waste of time:gaah:

I like daylight savings. Now 7 months of the year are on Daylight Savings and the other 5 are on Standard Time. I would prefer if all 12 months were DS time. I guess I don't like standard time.

I think the point is why bother changing the clocks, and with that I agree.

CHINA

CHINA is 4000 miles from east to west, they have NO time zones; it's the same time at the eastern end as it is in the most western section, and NO Daylight Savings...
duh, go figure.... :coffee:

Daylight Savings Time

Well I do like DST. I'm still in the working world. It's nice to be able to ride after I get home from work. Now it will have to be on weekends only until spring.:banghead:

:lecturef_smilie: So let's not forget to vote on Tuesday! nojoke
After all; if you don't vote, you've got no right to complain! :gaah:

Early voting here. Funny thing, one of the candidates for sheriff is doing repairs to our house. I'm friends with the other candidate. nojoke

The only things I see that daylight savings time accomplishes are:

(1) making people who commute due east or west face be blinded by the sun during their commute twice as often as necessary;

(2) making it really tough for parents of little kids to get them to go to bed on time in the spring, when all of a sudden, their body clocks think bedtime is an hour too early, and they need to be drug out of bed, kicking and screaming, the next morning, because they didn't get enough sleep.

I've always thought is was stupid. If you need an hour's more daylight in your job, get up earlier rather than making everyone else do so, too!

I am with you. I cannot adjust my work hours so rarely free before 6 or 7pm. Nice to be able to take out the bicycle , motorcycle , do yardwork, with daylight.

Alaska also has only one time zone. In summer June, July, August, we don't need DST. It does not get dark or dusky until 3:00 AM. :dontknow:

If memory serves, Ben Franklin (founding father) was responsible for the idea of DST. We did not start getting official about it until about the late 1950's.

When I lived in Indiana (1970's), we were one of the few states that did not go on DST.
