• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

limits. Got an e-mail 4 months ago asking if I would take Jake, my lab, to Oswego State College for visits with students. I really did not think the students would be interested but went anyway. A 30 minute visit is now almost 1 1/2 hrs with up to 80 or more students. These college kids come running when we walk in and someone yells 'the dogs are here'. Nan, my girlfriend handled jake last night and I finally took some pic's.

Both Jake and Boomer, the golden, have done nursing homes, hospitals, senior citizen centers, and worked in rehab depts. College was never a thought for me, but boy did I get suprised.

That is great. When our daughter was at Michigan State she used to volunteer as a dog walker at the Veterinary School. She said that they always had a lot of volunteers as the kids missed their family pets.

Keep up the good work!

:firstplace: That's really cool, I'm sure the students enjoy the visits even more then you know.

Love those pics. Don't we all wish we could be the person our pet thinks we are? (not my original thought) Great to see the dogs enjoying it every bit as much as the students.

Good job getting out there and sharing your suitable dogs. Therapy work is very important work. And who ever said that college students don't need therapy?? :yikes:

When I had a dog suited to it, I did a lot of visits in an assisted care/nursing home facility. My Rottweiler and Bull Terrier made a lot of people very happy. I wish my present male bullie was a bit more steady. He's just way too excitable. Oh he's friendly. Just TOO friendly!!!

When you have a dog trained and temperamentally suited to do this work, the visits are a joy. Kudos to you and your dogs! :D
