• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The World's Best Places To Live 2010

Here in Alabama we have a low population, the state has no money to pay people there income tax refunds, few good jobs, and a lot of schools that are poor to say the least. But hey we are #1 in College Football. That counts for something, right??

I,ll take Southington, Connecticut@! About 12-15 90 degree days Not very humid most of the time , very little severe weather and the air conditioner only stays on over night about 12 times during the whole summer!!!:D
We do get snow- Big deal??:yikes:

Wow four of the top ten are in Canada or Australia. then Finland and Austria. The US doesn't even rate.
:(
The reason the U.S. doesn't rate is because, We [USA] spend a vast amount of money and resources [GI's] keeping an Nuclear Umbrella to protect Us and the world. Take away that umbrella and let the rest of the world spend there own money to defend themself, then see where the best Cities to live are!

Most of this type of reporting/analysis only considers cities of a certain size -- each study is different.

The vast majority of Americans do not live in larger cities. I suppose that is true of Canada and lots of other countries . . .

If your objective is to live in a larger city then these studies have meaning. Otherwise, most folks (the ones not in these larger cities) feel fine about where they live -- given nowhere is perfect -- anywhere in the developed world.

That leaves out lots and lots of places -- particularly the middle east -- where political and/or religious intolerance negatively perfuses every aspect of life and prevents those areas from real modern technical and human progress.

I would choose most anywhere in the USA or Canada anytime -- even the cities.

You still can't beat Montgomery Center Vermont--Jay Peak on one side, Lake Champlain on the others with plenty of good roads to ride in between.:yes::yes:

The BMW MOA International Rally was in Burlington a few years back. We couldn't get over how beautiful and un-crowded the roads were. Just watch out for those cow crossings! :yikes: But definitely one of our favorite places to ride. We're going back to southern VT for the BMW RA rally this year, and hope to do it on our new Spyder. :2thumbs:

Been on my list of places to visit for some time now--- but I'm scared once I visit I won't want to leave!
Come up to mississauga for a visit [i'm 20 minutes from downtown toronto] which was #8 :2thumbs: + 1 and 1/2 hrs to niagara falls [nice day trip]

Best Place to live

I think everyone should think where they live is the best place..if that weren't the case, everyone would live down here in SW Florida where we live. It seems that they do in the dead of winter, (SnowBird Season), when there are more people here from Canada than seem to be in Canada at that time of the year... OOPS... did I hear someone mention oil slick????:yikes::yikes:
