• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The wife, The girlfriend

Wife vs Girlfriend

I have a wife who does not like to ride either on a 2 wheeler that I still have (but seldom ride) or the Spyder. She just does not like to ride. I do like someone along for a ride so what is the proper thing to do for a 71 year old guy?

Seriously...
Is she up for the occassional "short-hop; around the block"?? :dontknow:
Maybe a little bit of careful, subtle, and VERY gentle indoctrination will make her more amenable to the idea... :2thumbs:

We have been together for over 25 yrs and she has gone on a few rides (very few) I love road trips and she does not, so in the summer I go on trips with friends and in the winter we fly off to Mexico or someplace. She rode on the spyder 1 time and said it was like riding in a hurricane. I do have some "friends" that I take for a ride on day trips and don't get in trouble for it.

"Riding in a hurricane"...
What kind of helmet was she wearing?
If she had on an open-face helmet; gently suggest that a modular full-face version will provide more pretection from the wind...
Same thing with her jacket (or lack thereof...)
Do you have an intercom system for speaking with her? Sometimes a bit of re-assurance along the way helps a lot!

Wearing a half helmet, no glasses (she refused to wear them), was a warm day, no intercom, I have given upon her riding, I still have fun on the Spyder.....I bought in in July and just turned over 2500 miles....
