• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The Stupid "have you read?" thing

There's that stupid "have you read the safety manual" question that you have to wait for before starting the engine. This is sooooooooooo dumb!

Has anyone heard of a bypass to this?

It's a combination of BRP legal/lawyer BS in addition to a time-taker-upper while the spyders computer boots up. I'm guessing you have an RT/RTS because they take longer to boot up. My RSS takes about 2 seconds. I never understood all the whining about this until I learned that other models besides my RSS take longer to boot up. I can see how that would be annoying. However, just turn the key and then put your helmet on. When done it'll be ready to go.

Always been there right from the start I believe , probably always be there just like nanny watching over you while you ride.:chill:

 And here I was gonna say to just NOT read it...

Will it keep a running total for ALL of the times that I've not pulled the card?? Even on BOTH RTs? :D

The microswitch located on the safety card pull out counts how many starts are done without pulling out the safety card.

After 73 starts without a pull out your Spyder goes into permanent Limp Home Mode.
The only way to reset it is to pull the safety card out 73 times to get the counter back to zero.

If you fail to reset it, the Spyder simply will shut down and require a trip to Valcourt, QC .

:joke:

And your Warrenty will be voided!!

Roger, you shouldn't say these things to the noobs. They might not realize you're joking!!

Yep, turn the key on, put on your jacket, helmet, gloves, clean the bugs off the windshield, check the air in the tires, twiddle your thumbs for a minute or two, then start it up and RYDE!

No..!!

but have suggested they put that on a timed or mileage auto cancel on it. Say after a 1,000 miles it shut off. You should have memorized the card by then...:roflblack:

The ST's are terrible at this also. Apparently BRP thinks that 5 minutes is the memory retention of the average spyder owner. If you shut it off, you can restart it within 5 minutes again without waiting after that you probably have forgotten what is disclosed on the safety card. Once a day would be acceptable. It's frustrating when you're riding with others and trying to get going to catch up or get out of the way. However, if I had to choose I would keep the wait to start over the high pitched whine that lasts for 45 minutes after you turn the bike off. nojoke

What's the safety card thing about? Where do I find it? :roflblack:

By the time I wait for akspyderlady to get her gear on, my Spyder has warmed up and is going into overheat mode. Am I missing something here? :roflblack:

What's the rush, turn the key, finish talking to the guy at the gas pump. Put your lid on and your ready to go.
rushing is not allowed, relax and enjoy the ride.:thumbup:
