• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I like Larry Mac...DW has some interesting comments too.
Someone on the TV started a discussion on whether NASCAR should include a road course in the Chase....might preclude the use of ringers. We have some beautiful racetracks in this country and we see pitifully little of them in "consumer" racing broadcasts. ESPN used to broadcast Unlimited hydro racing...what happened to that....? Thank heaven for the Aussie V8 series....and they're all road courses.
Interesting program last night with an in-depth segment on the Nissan Delta machine. I know there are some engineering types ou there...what do you think of the Delta...?....worthy of consideration...?...or just an interesting experiment...?
 
I miss the old guys....Buddy, Benny, Ned....they had real color, and knew what they were talking about!

Like Buddy Baker telling of rolling the window down to wave to the crowd as he crossed the Daytona finish line, at around 160 mph.....said the wind pulled his arm back so far he couldda removed his own gas cap! :roflblack:
 
What a finish!

Watkins Glen, that was the best finish I've seen in this boring year!! Keslowski raced his heart out but the Kiwi was on the mark. The Shrub got uprooted :mad: and my boy Jr. lost the points lead :gaah: But damn that was one great finish, beatin' and bangin' all the way. :yes:

It was a super finish. Hard, clean racing all the way. I love it when the last lap is a nail biter.
 
Yes, good clean beatin' and bangin'. That kid knows how to drive, and on a road course even... I like the Glen better than Sanoma anyway.
 
Hey, I thought it was pretty clean. No sneaky nudges in the back corner, just fender to fender stuff. I loved the runs across the grass, dust flying, cars bouncing, and paint rubbing. Those boys can drive!

:agree: The Glen is well named as the "superspeedway of road courses"....there was some outstanding driving going on!


Thought Jr. was pretty kind towards NASCAR and that oil slick that was the racing surface....but man did it make for one hell of a finish!

Now 'what's his name' in the 48 car has the points lead.......:banghead:
 
Sorry Bruiser...Marcus is from Tasmania not New Zealand...no Kiwi title for him.
Of course Danica didn't make it out of turn one....but it is fun to listen to the announcers spin...they go ahead and hype her all they can and then comes the screw up.
Just like the Olympics where they were telling the audience what we should expect from Maloney on her vault....she was competing second to last and they kept building her up and getting all excited and she chokes and throws away the gold. I just had to laugh.
After the great race at the Glen did anyone see the Aussie V8 race...?
