• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Been cruzin' the 'net lookin' at Spyders.....thought I'd check out the "used" market and maybe
save some scratch….I dunno…..

Everything I find seems to be holding it's value extremely well......dammit........:banghead:.....

Found a few that are priced sort of fair...what would you pony-up for this?....

2009 Spyder
SE5
One owner

Pimped out paint
Garaged....ya know the routine.....

Less than 5000 miles!…:yikes:....

….not tooooo much detailed info. in the AD. other than some specs straight out of the
brochure. Some minor upgrades....kinda kool.........kinda diggin' the wheels.......:p...

Not sure about the pipe…???…

Have NOT received a reply from the seller yet….fairly new AD….

NOT sure how I feel yet about the SE5.....hhhmmmmmm....would miss the

I'm a clutch guy starting in 1968 with my first bike and I love the SE5 transmission on my RT-S... I still love my clutch on the Bluewing too.

JT

I was looking for an SM5 when I first bought my Spyder because I did not think I could live without the clutch. The only yellow one I found was an SE5 and after the test ryde I was hooked. Nothing like the paddle shifter and I will never go back to a manual clutch after this. The fair price is whatever you feel you can afford for it and the seller is willing to accept, but I would expect nothing less than $10K if you are lucky.

Let us know if you hear back from the seller.

Hey I am a young guy but, have been riding for 30 years. I have a 2012 RT-S SEM5 and I will not go back to a clutch.

I fix alot of two wheelers for my freinds but Love my spyder.

I bought my wife's 2009 RS SE last November and we picked it up for $9950. I had 14k on it. Unfortunately this is the worst time of the year to find a deal. nojoke I would agree that 12-12500 is what you should expect to pay. A little less if you get an SM model.

Can't do more..!!

great looking ryde, the pipe is the stock pipe untold number of after markets to pick from. Good luck hope you come to an equitable price and you can join the roadster world..!!

nice lookin ryde! nojoke ballpark numbers are right on. if you can get it for 11k you're doing real fine!:cheers:let us know how you make out!!!!

STILL waiting......

STILL no reply......either sold QUICK.....or just a stupid joke.....

Ya know......I found a few AD.s for nice bikes....and now than I think about....really cheap.
In fact....SO cheap....now I'm thinkin' it's just some dickhead playin' games.......:gaah:...

This bike is advertised at less than $7500.00!.......I shoulda known....:banghead:......

Back to the search.....

Oh ya....thanks everyone....

Smokin' hot pictures....but check the background!
Lot of pillars on the garage & house.....and in one pic. looks like a Mopar Prowler
in the background....

I wonder if there is a master list "somewhere" showing all the "limited edition"
and "special edition" bikes?

Seems like some of these special scoots were available for only one maybe two years....would be kool to know.....

Just my luck....I keep runnin' in to these wicked limited's......drivin' me NutZ.....

The reality is that while you may find "that great buy" for a '09 RS SE at $10,000 a really nice low miles one with some add ons from a dealer is going to go for around $13,500 and from an individual for around $12,500. If it has an extended warrantee expect to pay $500-750 more depending for how much is left on it. There just are not that many used Spyders of any kind on the market and the really nice low miles ones go fast to friends and neighbors. Check the classifieds here on the forum and even go back a few pages to old listings as sometimes items did not sell and they just are not reposted but still available, can't hurt to ask!

I would recommend not getting to caught up in Special Editions, Limited Editions, Premier Editions. The extra value they add can be dubious in the market. Vin #001 is probably collectible. Jay Leno supposedly has that one. Stealth editions--probably few factory, but a lot of people have repainted panels or just added the stealth panels. Premier editions--they made about 2500 of the special 1500 original premier editions. I have a Premier edition #474 RT-S. Would let that go for a measly $45,000 if your interested. :roflblack::roflblack:

Okay Arntu: Leaving space for your comeback about the special editions.

Ya gotta see this....

I'm still learning ALL about these bikes....standard and optional equipment....what
to look for when shopping for a used bike....the changes made from year-to-year.
...and any insider info I can find....:banghead:...

Most of it I've learned from this 'site and I REALLY appreciate everyones help!

Thank you.......now...... the search continues.....check this out..............

Listed as an '08 RS Limited Edition.

Vehicle Title: Rebuild...........what the heck does that mean?
Especially for $9K+ ......
....have not gotten a reply to my email about "what " this means......:dontknow:...

Can't tell from pic's IF there is a shift-lever there or not.

Can anyone tell me WHERE the headlights are?! I never really noticed the different designs in hoods before.
.....again.....still learning........

Check out these pic's. from the AD.

Anyone recoginize that hitch??? Are those "forward controls" or some sort of hiway pegs?

Can't wait to here the story behind that exhaust pipe......:yikes:...

Check the mileage!.....?...

They are probably hinting that it is one of the original Premiere Edition Spyders. BTW, there was no RS in 2008, it was called the GS

Vehicle Title: Rebuild...........what the heck does that mean?
That indicates that it is a "salvage" title...rebuilt after a crash that totalled it. Run, don't walk from this one.

Especially for $9K+ ......
....

Especially for $9K! This is a parts bike as far as I am concerned.

Can't tell from pic's IF there is a shift-lever there or not.
If it is a PE edition, it is a manual trans. The PE GS was only offered as a manual. The SE wasn't released until late in the year.

.....again.....still learning........

The headlights are behind the two projector lenses that look like "eyes", just beneath the windshield.

Anyone recoginize that hitch??? Are those "forward controls" or some sort of hiway pegs?
The hitch may be the old Mel's Monster Garage hitch...now out of business. Those are highway pegs.

Can't wait to here the story behind that exhaust pipe......:yikes:...
Not sure if that is a Spyder Attitude pipe???

...the search continues....
I hope so, this doesn't look like a good way to go. JMHO

Have you found a ROADSTER??

Send a PM to bignose13 see if he still has his 2011RS~S ... the bike has some really nice mods and well worth his asking price. it is posted here in "for sale by owner" a few weeks ago.
