The spyder getting the looks!!

The wife and I rode our limited rt to the state fair and there as the folks are coming into one of the entrance is a place where the motorcycles and such Park away from the other vehicles,. Well there was already one spyder parked there with about 15or so other motorcycles and then I Park mine and right off from the start I can hear the people coming in saying to one another about how nice or how they would like to have one, etc,.. So when we were leaving I told my wife let's not just jump on the spyder and take off but let's watch and observe.. Well we did and I just smiled as folks was pointing at my spyder and saying positive things than they were the other bikes and such, yeah I was proud of my spyder, cause I know there are haters out there, it was good to see and hear positive things about My spyder. Sorry for the long post but wanted to share that my spyder was getting the looks today.

I can understand what you are talking about. I have only had my Spyder for a month....but every time I stop to pump gas or stop at stores....people are always asking questions or saying how nice they look. Also...people are always staring at stop lights. It is cool...but I have gotten use to it.

Oh yeah..!!

that is part of the "miles of smiles" and all of the "rock star" mentioned here. If you stand by your fine machine you will get a whole bunch of questions many of which are posted here under "have you heard this one"...:roflblack: some are choice...

You must be Cool too !

My RT makes even a "dork" like me , appear cool, and knowledgeable, and ,,,,,
I think the RT's are particularly attractive, but they ALL still get attention.

No doubt! Folks are curious...

I am getting used to it, just about every time I go to town someone walks up and starts asking questions, or someone walking by makes a comment Like "nice bike" LOL! Or folks honking and giving a thumbs up...And even the occasional one finger salute.. LOL!

When on trips it seems like every gas station has someone with a question....I don' t mind because I am usually not in so much of a hurry I can' t make the time up on the road anyhow.....It is definitely an attention getter..I can only imagine how much attention the blinged out ones get.....bet those can' t make it anywhere on time...

Oh yes, I have had the gas station, a lowes, walmart parking lot walk ups and then you hear (how for you like it?. The neat thing about the fair that I posted is that about 3or 4 years ago at the same spot I was one of those folks that would see a spyder parked there and say to myself (man I would like to have one of those one day and park it here . We bought the spyder in July so it's still new.

I was surprised at the number of comments and questions about the Spyder at just about every gas station and parking lot I use. And folks seem to always be looking at me as I ryde down the Freeway. But then I always ryde naked so.................. OK maybe not but someone suggested that'd be cool, literally cool, in the Summer. I've held off. My favorite question was a, for lack of an official title, high school grocery store bag boy, who asked it it was street legal. But not so far fetched a question actually as my dealer sells about 8 Spyders a year and a hundred Can Am 4-wheel off road machines. Folks even ask if their little kid can sit on the bike while they take a photo. So, it's an amusement ryde then... I've racked up over 5K miles in two hot Summer months just driving to New Orleans for cafe au lait and beignets at Cafe du Monde. Or Lafayette for Shrimp Etouffe'. I use a Veskimo in the Summer and Gerbing heated clothing in the Winter. I'm equipped to ryde. Thursday the temps will finally drop below 90 and I can start day tripping in earnest. Most likely run over to Plano to pick up a case of Shaefer's root beer at Spec's and Saturday down to Pensacola for lunch and back.... went to Pittbull Powersports last month for some performance mods and laser alignment. Need to run the Tail of the Dragon, it's only a day's ride away, overnight and back. Probably weird but I start early about daylight and ryde until it gets hot, check into a motel and nap and stay cool until it is cool enough and then ryde til late. (Motels like it as they can sell the room twice.) I bought the bike to ryde it. Sure looks nice sitting regally in the garage but it's element is the road. And that's where it goes just about every day. Somewhere. Even if it's just 5 miles to the market for a gallon of milk or lunch in town 15 miles away. I go just about everywhere now on the bike and while the AC in my Silverado is cold, it's not out in the open...ears flapping in the breeze, so to speak... What I'm sayin' is RYDE! On that note, I'm off for coffee at the 'bucks in Ruston.

@ricford, you sound like a spyder rider on a mission... I like your style.. Lol, enjoy the ride to get the coffee.

Yesterday I was in a Wal-Mart parking lot, a lady and 2 kids were walking by and saw my spyder, 1 of her kids said" I want 1 of those" . Deanna

I've ridden multiple H-D touring bikes from '96-'09, and 2-Pearl Yellow GL1800 trikes from '06-early 15. Never got the attention/questions like we're getting on my RT Limited. Since we ride 2-up, the most frequent question goes like this: "OH, how do you like it? my husband and I are thinking about getting one."

On my road trip every place I stopped I had people wanting to take pictures of my new 2015 RT-SS. When I had my pearl white 2012 RTL I would get a lot of question but very rarely someone wanted a picture.

We just got back from about a 100 mile "ride".
It was a ride in the sense that that's what we did, while going to some fabric store that the Missus needed to visit...
As I hung out in the Parking lot, (I've learned to NEVER go in with her!), I had some really interesting conversations with folks. One fellow walked over, and immediately knew that it was a 2014 Limited, and we had a really nice discussion about the bikes. His last bike was a GIXXER-11, so he wanted something a bit more comfortable for him and his Wife to enjoy their weekends on.
Another nice Lady asked me how come I'm not "posing" on my bike, while wearing a muscle shirt. When I told her that it had been YEARS since I was able to do justice to a muscle shirt; she laughed with me, and introduced me to her husband... who also had the good sense to stay out of the way of a Lady in Shopping Mode. :D

All in all; we had a really good day on the bike! And you can fit $150 worth of fabric from Jo-Ann's into a Spyder with no difficulty!

I had an opportunity to be on the "other side of the fence" recently. My wife and I were parked, in her car, at a diner when a couple on an RT parked next to us. I said, "I like your RT Limited." They seemed really surprised that I know what it was. :D

Owners of :spyder2: have found out that there is a little bit of Rock Star factor that goes with it. In 2008 when first introduced, we were not able to stop anywhere without drawing a crowd. We still get questioned a lot, 7 years later.

My wife and I...

My wife and I took a ryde down to Yosemite for the day earlier this summer. We had packed a lunch and were sitting at a picnic table nearby when a tour-bus full of tourists stopped and let out the passengers. They all made a bee line directly to our tryke and started taking pictures. Being surrounded with the beauty of Yosemite and they're ooooing and ahhing our machine! The driver had a hard time getting them rounded up and back on the bus!
I must say that I was especially proud to be a Spyder owner that day! :ohyea:

People here almost crash their cars filming me while I go down the road, I get stopped all the time, but what I like most is the little kids, they are fascinated, and I always wave to them, and most wave back too. I am literally a rock star on this thing! hehe

Its funny but when I had my 2014 matte yellow/black RS-S, I got just a few comments/questions/thumbs-up.
But with my new 2015 RT SS, in a more sedate black over ruby red, I get more looks/comments/questions than the bright yellow bike. Go figure.

Maybe because the RT has such a massive presence on the road?

I'm totally amazing how the red and black of the RT SS gets so much attention.

Even the village nitwit knows that anything with two wheels and a big metal bulge between them is a motorcycle but, three wheels all that fairing, what is that cool looking thing?
