• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The search is almost over....

Wow, I've got a 14 Rt SE6 in Iowa for sale for only 15500. Has 5800 miles. Check Des Moines Craigslist. Nice bike!
Sorry - I guess I never replied to you. Thanks for the input - at this point, considering the Canadian dollar and the warranties, it may make more sense to look at Canadian bikes - the $15,500 US would be over $22,000 Canadian and with the cost of "Canadianizing" the bike, duty etc, it would not be worth it. Thanks anyways, appreciate the input!

OK - I went and did it....

I bought a 2013 RT - Limited with very low km's. Let the ribbing begin....

I appreciated everyone's advice - when this bike came up, everything felt right so I went ahead and bought it. Should have it by this weekend - pics to follow.

Cheers and safe riding to all.

Spyder RT choices

I have a 2013 RTL and love it. I have enjoyed the mounted GPS, and I like the chrome, I know some do not but I do. By the way the chrome from BRP is really good stuff.

I do not know if the 12 has grip heaters or not but my wife and I both really enjoy having them very much on our RTL.

I would get the 13, but make sure that the heat displacement recall has been done. If that is done then the 13 will give you one of the coolest temperature running Spyders in the world.

Also, if it is the Black Current color then you also have one of the fastest Spyders in the world.

I have, a 2012 Can Am Spyder RT-S. It came with the electrically heated rider and passenger hand grips. The multifunction display went out and had to be replaced, but I'd not say that was unique to the 2012 Spyder. My Spyder came with the stock seat without a backrest, so we replaced it with a Corbin, electrically heated seat with rider backrest, and the fuel filler door. If the opportunity ever presents itself, we will trade up for a 2016 or 2017 Spyder Limited, and swap the seats. A concern is, the gas gauge which has proven not to be the most reliable, and that maybe common to all Spyders.

You should do yourself a favor and try a little experiment. Unscrew your dash guage panel and unplug you coolant and fuel guages, for now just unplug them, temporarily put the panel in place and turn on the Spyder.

You will now see a vertical and digital representation of coolant and fuel on your central dash panel. There are many options to replace them with voltage guage or USB plugs or just leave the old guages there.

Result, more accuracy all the way aroun. I know that I get about a gallons more fuel in the tank and about 50 miles or so before I worry about the fuel.
