THE SADEST SONG I LISTENED TO WHENi WAS A KID

I remember listening to this song when I was a kid and it really affected me back then. I listened to it a couple of days ago and it still has the same affect and meaning.

Had, if not impossible, to keep dry eyes. Most people would do the same thing these truckers did back then - don't know about now days.

That song brings back some memories. Most people do get the tears swelling up in their eyes when they hear this one.

Another one is Giddy Up Go. They played that on the oldies station two days ago--and same result.

Red Sovine was an expert at doing the "tear jerker" songs.

There were a lot of them in the 60s and 70s. Bet we could come up with a long list. "Patches", "Old Rivers", "Cool Water" and so on.

Then there are some recent ones, "Dance with my father Again", "I hope you Dance" etc. "I hope you Dance" holds particular meaning for Kris and I.

Never heard that one..!!

very moving song....gotta love country western, music you can understand..!!

That song brought back memories from the past that made me feel good but also had my eyes full of tears. Thanks for the thread.

For those that aren't familiar with Giddy-Up Go, which I think is the second saddest song ever done with number one going to Teddy Bears Last Ride.

Heres Giddy-Up Go...

Last Kiss, Wayne Cochran 1961, When that came out ' A Few stations wouldn't give it air time...
Pearl Jam recently re-uped it' and in my humble opinion nailed it..

This is not a song, But I'll add it the list ..... TAPS

Truckers

Most of the independents I know would do that today but the corporates cannot get away with it. To many tracking devices to rat you out....

No gobbler tonight Bob. They were gobbling all around me. I know where they roosted for the nite so I will be there in the morning. I have a sharp arrow for a fat one. BTW...25 deer, two of which walked up to my hen decoy.

Are you using a string tracker?
