• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The RISERS that are no longer available

Is there enough extra wiring in place, to allow for this?
Or will you be practicing your electrical skills also?
Good luck!

If not, my son was an aviation electronics tech in the Marine Corps, he can handle the soldering work on any wiring extensions needed. pretty sure I will have to install a longer clutch line though. Hey, i'll have the only Spyder around these parts with Mini-Apes!. :)

:D Not quite... :D

This one was built by one of our members a bunch of years ago, and I think that it still holds the "High Altitude" record...

But it sounds as if you're plenty prepared, and we look forward to your successful results!

and so it begins! side panels will come off in the morning to see what slack if any there is in the wiring. these factory stubs are not steel, they are composite.

THE WORDING EXPLANANTION

going to remove the existing stub bars that the grips and controls are mounted to, install new shorter stubs in their place and add these risers, then install the factory stubs with controls and grips onto these risers.View attachment 140637
Remember in my PM about this to you .... I used these BEFORE risers were commercially available ....so I know how they work .... From your explanation of what / how you are planning to complete this project, the mental picture is probably not what it will look like ....... As far as how much wire is available .... On my GS and RSS there was enough for 5 + inch risers ..... What is available on your RT I don't know...... My guess is if you cut enough wire ties you should be OK ............ good luck........Mike

no slack in the wiring harnesses to amount to anything, so there about 35 wires that have to be extended. + the clutch line

it'll work. all of the wiring extensions will be contained in the existing handlebar. they will be hidden.

ADJUSTABLE HANDLE BAR RISERS

ISCI Sells adjustable handle bar risers. they are 6-way, up/down, forward/back, and will turn in or out. They fit the 2008-2012 GS RS models .They are black in color, retail cost is $349.00 but with our fall sale going on now I will sell them for $275.00. I have put the same risers on the ST and RT as well, but the stock handlebars have to be cut shorter, drilled and tapped in the end. looks and works good as well. just have to purchase new handlebars.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Jeff at 334-277-2224.

Handle bar risers for a 2010 -2016 RT

RT ADJUSTABLE HANDLEBAR RISERS.jpgHere is a picture of ISCI's adjustable handle bar risers on a RT without cutting any wires. If I can help anyone please give us a call at ISCI 334 277 2224. ask for Jeff.

I had a set of Heli Bars on a 2014 Conciurs, very well made precision piece. Not sure if they have any for the Spyder. The Concours bars were about $850 I think.

finally got my 4" x 7/8" stub rods for my risers. managed to round up the wire yesterday. surgery begins this afternoon. all connections will be soldered and heat shrinked.

Does anybody have a picture with riser on an RT ??? Sorry just saw the post with the pics. Checked Dennis Kirk and they are out of stock ...

Hi quasi,

Re: surgery begins this afternoon.

If you can, take a lot of photos of your efforts as you go along. Us nutzy DIY'ers like to see this kind of stuff.

connections all done. still need to tuck things away and install the covers. still waiting on the replacement hydraulic line and banjo fittings from Dennis Kirk to get here, and some 7/8" I.D. rubber caps for the stub bar ends. then I can button part of it up. airbox has been removed and will be ordering JT's aircleaner assembly right after Christmas. with the airbox out of there you can actually see and work on the engine! should run cooler also. I know from just sitting on the bike my shoulders are more comfy.

Got a question for you. I see you have the manual shift. How well did the risers work with the reservoir? I have a set of dog bones on mine and had to grind some on them, but still not quite happy with it. Which risers did you use and where did you get them. Mine is set up on a GS spyder.
thanks, David

I went back and saw you got them from DK. But would like to see a better picture around the clutch lever. Don't know how much different the RT vs the GS on room around that area.
