There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. The origin of the “Million Dollar Highway” name is clouded in myth....

Tell the truth...

A. Some say it was first used after an early traveler, complaining of the vertigo-inducing steepness of the route, said, “I wouldn’t go that way again if you paid me a million dollars.”

B. Others claim that it derives simply from the actual cost of paving the route in the 1930s.

C. But, the favorite explanation is: When the highway was first constructed, the builders used gravel discarded by nearby gold and silver mines.

Without researching or googling... which is the truth????? :dontknow:

:dontknow:
But I'll answer "B" as well since it sounds like something that'd have been said back then...

We did it last year in September and absolutely loved it. Only snow we saw was in the higher elevation that we were not in. My Facebook timeline page mheader is intact the last couple of corners above Ouray. What a blast

Wikipedia says the reason for the name is in dispute. Check with Mythbusters.

"The origin of the name Million Dollar Highway is disputed. There are several legends, though, including that it cost a million dollars a mile to build in the 1920s, and that its fill dirt contains a million dollars in gold ore.[1]"

I cheated.
