• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. The Ongoing Saga of Buying a Sypder....

This episode takes place between 1:15 and 2:45.

Went to pick up my Spyder today. Yesterday dealer said they would have it ready by 1 PM. Showed up at 1:15, signed papers, etc. Sales lady said they are almost done. (they started yesterday morning, why they are not complete at 1:15 is beyond me).

Now 1:30, she says there is a small problem. One key won't start the Spyder, they need to reprogram it. Come back in about 45 minutes. Go to lunch, return 1 hour later. Now 2:15.

Wait around until 2:45. Update, key will not take reprogramming. they are swapping out with another ignition unit that has two workable keys. Will call this afternoon, should be ready by 4:00. :banghead:

Now, I am sitting back at work, no Spyder, not very happy on a beautiful riding day !!

At least I am getting a new helmet out of the deal...so far !

Warrenty

Sounds like to me they should have thrown in the extented warrenty (FREE) with the deal along with a helmet... Did you buy the extended warrenty? If not it would be a good idea to cause if you decide later on it will cost you a little bit more---maybe...

Joe
Sorry to hear about the whole situation..

when do you want your spyder?

I WANT IT AND I WANT IT NOW!!! :banghead:

Free helmet sounds nice. At least shows they care about their customer and want you to return in the future. I've had worse experiences but I certainly understand your frustration. I WANT IT AND I WANT IT NOW!!! :spyder:

Thankfully they have a working unit to replace it with. I can understand the anxiety and frustration. I had to wait 2 weeks after I was told mine would be ready...dealer to dealer exchange and transportation problems. Now, 7000 miles and 4.5 months later, IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT! See you in July!

Get back to dealer, key # 1 works, Key # 2 works. :2thumbs:

Go to load Spyder on trailer and guess what ?? It won't fit ! Yes, I know it needs a minimum 6" wide trailer, yes I should have measured it myself and not taken my buddy's word. Looked narrow, but thought it looked smaller behind my Tahoe ! What a bonehead screw up !

Have a 6' X 10' trailer locked on as we speak, measured to make sure ! Picking up tomorrow morning at 9 AM, rest of work day is looking shaky for going to work after ! LOL

Well, I have the honor of having one of the few SPyders that was in the shop before I even saw it !!!!!

T-13 hours and counting. At least I was able to drive it around the parking lot ! LOL
