• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm 70 next year and I remember all of those except the US specific ones.
We used to have our local baker deliver our bread to us three times a week.
You could hail a bus (out on the rural roads) and the driver would stop for you even between bus stops.
Hitch hiking was safe and was my chosen mode of transport for many years.
We had petrol (gas) coupons allocated to us as we had rationed fuel off and on
right into the early 60s.
Only one TV channel 'til 1955 and then two 'til around 1960.
Kids could walk to school or at least to the local railway station safely.
There was a mobile Fish and Chip shop which visited local villages.
