in east harlem where i spent my very young years, we also had a man selling jelly apples from a push cart, and sweet potatoes from another cart. then there was a cart with a ice block and a shaver for snow cones, and a little old lady used to sit on the corner with a big wash basin, and she would have it filled with salt water and lupini beans, she would dip a cup into the beans and fill the cup, then using her fingers to help drain the water out of them, then put them in a small bag for us.

OK, Lupini beans are new to me .................. Grew up in Brooklyn and don't remember them, Might have been a Harlem thing.
I do remember catching some Brim, Bass and a Potfor though.
