• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The new Spyder is home.

I picked up the new 2011 A & C yesterday as promised. Everything went as planned and there were no issues to deal with. The Spyder was even delivered with a full tank of gas.

I put the first 50 miles on it and turned it over to akspyderlady (Linda). We stopped for supper and then put another 70 miles on the :spyder2:,s before ending the evening ride.

The initial ride of 120 miles was great. Everything was set up perfectly and I got no warnings or computer glitches. Our impressions of the 2011 compared to the 2010 were that the 2011 seemed a bit lighter in handling and did not require as much input into the handlebars for the turns. It took Linda about 10 miles to get used to it, and that was it. I note the windshield is different--about 3 inches shorter and about 3 inches narrower. The seat felt real cushy compared to my Corbin. I liked it at first--but after the first 50 miles, I was ready to go back to my 2010. Driving with footpegs instead of the seal floorbaords was also noticably different. Linda already wants floorboards.

We both really like the magnesium (silver) color a lot. It seems to be a darker silver than my original 08 GS :spyder2:. The color kind of grows on you. It looks pretty snazzy riding along with the black 2010. I am hoping for some sun today so I can take a couple of pictures. I will come back later and add them.

All in all, we are very happy with the purchase of the :spyder2:

Jerbear: Yes, it won't be long for the 600 miles check. Waiting on driving lights and ESCI light bar and will get it all done at the same time.

I am guessing 300+ miles this weekend. Have rides planned today, Saturday & Sunday. I will post those on our Adventures with akspyderman and akspyderlady thread.

Bob D: Farkles?????? I spent 1K on them before I even got to pick the :spyder2: up. Now we are going to have to get floorboards. I think the fun is just beginning. :roflblack:

Been ryding most of the day. She now has 300 miles on the :spyder2: in less than 24 hours. Tomorrow and Sunday we have rides planned with others. I am betting we get our 600 break-in miles done before the weekend is over. She is having a lot of fun and has a BIG smile on her face.

Weather has been cloudy and threatening to rain today. I am opting for a little bit of sun to pass some pictures on. I am hoping that will happen by the end of tomorrow's planned ride.
