I've heard and read that some think the Spyder isn't a motorcycle...well, they're just plain WRONG! See if you can find fault with the following logic:
- The Spyder has a motor (engine) which propels it;
- A cycle can be a uni-cycle, a bi-cycle, or a tri-cycle...and the Spyder is a (reverse) trike;
- Therefore, by definition, the Spyder IS A MOTORCYCLE!
But is it a "bike"?

Agreed. Spyders/trikes are NOT bikes. (bi=2 tri=3), but are they motorcycles?
As a member of a conventional motorcycle club, I've actually given this topic far too much thought and had many "friendly" discussions with other members. We sometimes have to agree to disagree. [emoji846]
Reasons a Spyder is not a motocycle:
1. It doesn't lean.
2. No kickstand.
3. It is too wide.
4. No counter-steering.
5. Doesn't "feel" like a motorcycle.
Reasons a Spyder is a motorcycle:
1. Engine is between your legs.
2. Steering is via handlebars versus a wheel.
3. Little to no protection from elements or in a collision.
4. Acceleleration is via hand grip.
5. Seating is passenger behind operator with operator between passengers legs.
6. You climb on versus getting in.
7. You are often invisible to automobile drivers.
8. One driven wheel/no differential.
So, my opinion for Spyders is: motorcycle=yes, bike=no, trike=yes, reverse-trike=yes, motor-bike=no, cycle=yes, fun=yes
What do you think?
