• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

the least we can do is think of the least in this our reality

here in western ky we have snow, ice, cold..unusual for this time of year here..and sleet right now.. you northeastern folks have been slammed .. yet here we sit in our warm abodes..

sometimes complaining..........

this am .. I got in the truck to go open my shop.. lambaste ing the drivers of the road that got out to go shop..and don't have a clue how to drive in these conditions.. hey I have an SUV.. I can drive as fast as i want to.. because I have four wheel drive.. weLLL.. that doesn't mean anything to an ice covered road, buT.. hey wish they would come visit me..

anyway

and my truck's heater put forth a constant blast of cold air.....grumble..stupid heater.. 11 degrees

got to work....parked in the parking lot and made my way across the ice.. looking down as to where I step so I wouldn't go land diving.. when you have one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.............well

when I heard a voice say SIR...

I looked up and there was this black woman about 35 ft away.. I said I am sorry I am partially deaf let me get closer to hear..

she asked me "where is the homeless shelter, I have been walking up and down this street and can't find it.. I told her it was about 5 blocks down, if I remember correctly.. her face fell.. she said I am so cold.."

she had no gloves, no hat, sweat pants on , a jacket.. her shoes were house slippers falling off her feet.. I wondered how did she get here?

I told her to get in my truck I would take her there.. well they moved it .. so i stopped and went into a place for unwed mothers and asked them.. they did not know..but found some phone #'s i could call.. I went to the police station..and they did not know.. then a lady remembered where a new place was opened around 5 blocks away.. I took here there... and asked this lady if she worked here, she said yes, and told her this woman was wandering around downtown..she thanked me and took this person into their care...

we sometimes forget, I was choked up after this.. and went to work.. 45 minutes had gone by..

The odd thing was ..My truck heater started working while I searched the town...this afternoon when I left work .. the heater was not working

Good to hear..!!

She was lucky you happened along. Good people like yourself a few and far between. There is a balance in the action one takes, glad you both got some heat while you searched. Maybe a few well posted signs will help the less fortunate especialky if they change locations...

when i worked in the city i tried to never hand out money to people that were begging. it is amazing what you can see on the streets. but i would offer something for them to eat. if they wanted food i would get them whatever they wanted. even thou we sometimes feel down and are at a loss for funds or other things we want, we have to remember there are people out there worse than we are. you did a great thing and i hope someone is looking down on you and smiling

That Woman will never forget you, for the time you took to help her...

I have found that when i do something along those lines ........................................ I think i get a warmer feeling (play on words) than the person i helped.

In this day & age when people tend to shun others & not make eye contact (mainly out of fear I think) that was a very good thing to do.

I hope nobody moaned to you that you opened up late.
