• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

the Landfill Harmonic Orchestra

Live a year at a time in a few third-world countries and you develop a real appreciation for what we have in this country . . .

Been there..!!

some really nice beaches around Lima require driving past landfills. You would be amazed what they can do with what we through away. I know if there were a way to get construction waste from here to there they could build cities... Great video.. Thanks..!!

Very inspiring. Hope it makes us appreciate the wonderful things we have available to us on a constant basis.

I flew with a very enterprising young NCO when I was at Offutt AFB. He bought a dump truck and signed contracts with multiple home builders. Three times, during the construction project of a new home, he would visit and clean up all the waste. It all went to his dump truck, then he would sort it. The actual trash went to the landfill, but leftover shingles, lengths of 2x4.s 2x6's, 2x12's, joists, and everything else he felt was useful went to a storage place where he had multiple lockers. He would sort stuff and fill a locker with, perhaps, black shingles, or odd lengths of 2x4. When a few lockers would fill, he'd advertise an auction, cash and carry, in the paper, and sell all the stuff someone else paid him to haul away! He was making more, doing that, than he did from his job in the Air Force! Americans trash a lot of useful stuff . . . he was smart enough to capitalize on that fact.

That is pretty amazing! Hats off to them for taking a lemon, and making some very sweet lemonade with it! :firstplace:
