The good, the bad and the ugly

the good:
I own a 2013 STS and LOVE it.

the bad:
it won't fit in the car port like my Harley did

the ugly:
it is parked under a Tulip Poplar that, like all Tulip Poplar trees drips, little tiny drips all over our :spyder2:s.



Ok, for real though. I just read another one of those "OMG the STS is the worst thing in the world" (not the actual title) threads. The bad is what you will see posted about any product, especially a brand new product. That applies with almost everything, you don't see on the news about the guy that stopped at the railroad crossing and didn't get hit by a train. You don't read in the paper about the guy that went hunting and didn't see a darn thing but still came home to his wife and kids.

SO...

Here is a GOOD thread about the STS.

I have a 2013 Spyder STS, Circuit Yellow, it is more visable than the grey one they had there and more visable than my Harley I traded on it. Yes it gets hot. Mine does NOT over heat sitting in traffic. It surely is better than sitting in that same traffic with the air cooled v-twin I used to have between my legs. I have done 300+ streight miles on a trip with no problems adn have over 3000 miles on it in the few months I have had it. Yeah, it's not as fuel efficient as the smaller two wheelers I have owned. I didn't buy it for that. Everyone I have talked to about it thinks it's COOL looking. I get people walking up to me all the time to ask questions and comment on it.

The rants against the 2013 seem to be on the decline these days and we have also been receiving a lot of positive posts on them. Most 2013's--once they get dialed in--seem to be good.

I know there are still a few out there that have seemingly unsolvable problems. For that I am sorry.

Boy are you right. I am one of those that have done a royal rant. But my complaints have all been about dumb things that NEVER have gotten off an assembly line. Just lousy quality control. And yes the dealers could do better. But they shouldn't have to be the factorys quality control shop.

The ride, the handling, the just plain fun factor is right up and over with this machine. My '13 ST Ltd is a hoot. But I might have to look at a new sway bar...:thumbup:

No Heat Issue So Far

I have a new 2013 STS and have no heat issues so far...I think the CAT bypass has helped!
