• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The Glove-box foam insert

What foam? I have the 2010, is that too early. Good idea though. If you're in stop and go traffic it will cook up there. My iPhone stopped working once because of high temperature. Speaking of phones, make a contact entry titled ICE (In Case of Emergency) so EMS knows who to contact should something happen to you. Have multiple contacts ICE1, 2, etc. I was in EMS before cell phones were created. They are a life saver and a life taker. Use them with wisdom.

The foam insert slows down the heat flux into the glove box, but if you are on a longer ride, say over an hour or so, the glove box still gets warm.
I've removed my foam insert to make more room in the glove box.
And yes, I keep my cell phone and other sensitive things in the rear trunk.

Glove Box foam insert

My 2010 Spyder RT - S SES Model came with the Glove Box Foam Insert

It takes up alot of room - I noticed that it seemed to be made of Polystyrene Insulation Foam material covered in a Black Felt type material

After a couple of months the outer material - The black felt like material was coming away from the main body and was exposing the inner Polystyrene and looking very poor (Shabby)

I took out the Foam insert and placed inside the Glove box a rubber ribbed mat shaped to fit the bottom of the Glove Box - Underneath this mat I stuck some Aluminium Foil Silver Tape to insulate the Glove Box from the Heat build up

This gives more space
I don't place anything that maybe effected by the heat although since my modification there is less build up of heat anyway

Others may want to check the outer material on their Glove Box foam insert as it will peel off - Possibly due to the Heat that it was designed to

LOL
My 2010 RT/AC didn't have the foam insert.

I like to fill the glovebox 2/3 full with water and drop 3 eggs in.
60 miles later you have a perfectly done poached eggs.

Use stainless steel wire to wrap a couple of slices of bread around the cat and you can enjoy toast too.
Of course the toast only takes 30miles so you have to plan your trip stops accordingly.
