• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The frequent lament of "they said my Spyder was not a real motorcycle!"

Never experienced negative comments - most are interested in knowing more about my F3S. Always acknowledged by other bikers when passing each other (very rarely will a motorcyclist not respond - and I would bet its not because of a spyder).

I haven't got many "that's not a motorcycle" comments. What I do get is people asking about my Spyder when I stop for gas on longer trips. Have to add an extra 5 or 10 minutes for the curious, or the people who just really like my tryke!

I too have never received any negative comments.
People usually want to know if it is hard to steer and are shocked to know it has power steering.

I have had many Seniors ask me about the RT. The most asked "Hey do you think I can ride that kind of bike " And "How much did that cost?" and a few "Man I got to get me one of those.

Some want to cross it off on their bucket list.

Not to my face, but I always get the "Question" does it lean in the turns? Or do you have to lean in corners? Lots of people come up to me when parked, and want to know all about it. Some HD riders will pull up next to me at a traffic light, and Rev it up, only to be humiliated when I'm 1/2 block ahead of them before they know what happened. That usually answers their question.

There aren't that many Spyders around here in rural NZ so I'm happy to field questions about it.
Not unusual to be approached in car parks with young and old wanting a closer look. What's that?
So I'm happy to give them a quick rundown on my F3.
Eyes light up when I mention the 1300cc and the 6-speed quick-shifter box, and all the storage options with my Ltd.
Young and old like seem to enjoy my "It's my mobility scooter" claim, which it is for me these-days.
The older blokes visibly going Hmmm....and nodding. Can almost hear those cogs turning.

As a Spider rider, you blokes already know how quick off the mark they can be.
While I may be in my sunset years of riding I guess now, I still like to have a bit of fun, when it's safe enough.
I enjoy the PedalBox I fitted. Kinda wakes it up right off the idle with no delay, when I want it.

So I don't mind so much when now and again waiting at the light or so and a rider pulls up attempting to give me the evils.
Whatever mate, I just smile back, nod and then look forward again.

Sometimes I just let 'em go and carry on....

But now and again, after ensuring that all is clear and then .... well, ya know what's about to occur in guessing...
Not dead yet.
Thunderbirds are go! ...
Vaarrooommm - baa-baa baa, see ya later alligator. Seems to take some slack out of 'em.

I do get helmet slapped from the wife now and again if she is riding pillion.
She is aware and reads the signs and just sits still until normal pooteling service is resumed.
Then let's fly. Usually followed up with a verbal huck up, finger pointing, and head shaking later on.
I just suck that up and smile, then she, having vented, comes right after a while.

Majic Moments prevail.

Being a Goldwing rider for over 30yrs, Now Spyder rider.

Haha snap. Well not 30 yrs, but quite a few years on my Wing.
Sometimes I say, "Where's ya VIN plate?" and wander over and have a squiz without giving them time to answer.
Kinda seems to unsettle them a bit.
Then mention my Wing has 01 on it - that's Marysville, Ohio.
Then still gazing at their machine say something like... "Whats that? Korea or something?"

My wife has a 2020 Spyder RTL and could not be happier BUT of course her hubby still does 2 wheels and has fun dissing her bike. Take in mind that I am not anti Can Am because when the 2 wheel time is over I will be on a 3 wheeler. One nite when we were pulling the bikes in the garage I said to her congrats and her WANNABEE motorcycle made it home from another ride laff laff laff.
Next day I go to the garage and little Miss Attitude wife had wedged the Spyder in blocking in my 3 with a cardboard sign "Bet You WANNABEE Out Riding" sitting against the passenger backrest of her Can Am .....
