Wednesday night I had a craving for Donuts. Since I had Thursday and Friday off I decided to go and get some Apple Cider donuts. On Thursday morning around 8:30 am I called up Blueknight911, asked Mike if he was going to be home. The best Apple Cider donuts are found at a place in Stowe Vermont,(Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Stowe, Vermont). Mike was going to be home, so I gathered up a small overnight bag and headed for Vermont. Left my house at 09:30 am and I arrived at Mikes home around 3:15 pm. Mike was a gracious host as always. I got to see his 917 project car. He has done alot of work on this car so far. Mike explained to me his plans and he has alot of work left to do. When completed it will be a very nice car.
Max, Mikes Bulldog also greated me, he is a great dog. He loves his doggie treats. Mike fixed a great supper of pork chops, mashed potatoes and french cut green beans. A great meal. After supper we talked about Spyders, we compared my Spyder to his Spyder, (mine is a 2011 RTS and Mikes is a 2014 RT). We had great conversation about the bikes and Spyder Lovers. Around 10.30 pm Mike offered me a bed to sleep in and I accepted the offer. Had a great nights sleep and in the morning Mike whipped up a great plate of bacon, toast and a western omlet. After breakfast we chatted some more and then it was time for me to go. Left Mikes around 8:30 am and headed for Cold Hollow Cider Mill. Arrived there around 09:11 am. I had planned on purchasing 2 dozen donuts, but I purchased 4 dozen since I had the room. Ate 2 of the donuts there and then headed back to Maine. Arrived home at 5:00 pm.
Both days of riding I could not have asked for better riding weather. Mid 70's both days. Total mileage on Donut Run is 510 miles. They are worth it!!! Again, thanks to Mike and Max for feeding me and putting me up for the night. As I type this up, I am enjoying one of those donuts. Bruce
