There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I love your spirit! I was diagnosed in Dec 2001. When I turned 60, 3 years ago, I decided I wanted to ride backseat. I did. Loved it and in Michigan the time of year was great because it was Sept Oct. cider and donut weather- cold...fantastic time...returned to AZ and wanted to ride, had to find a singles club, the haves and have nots...so as a havenot I got to ride backseat on trips with haves:yes:...nice liked that a lot. was doing that and looking online for a beau and someone pulled up to meet me (he had told me he had one)with this red fully dressed crossroads victory touring mc....hey I was hooked. bwahahahaha! he was tall he was big and he had a big bike...how could I lose...so here we are today living together. He encouraged me to go to MC school. I did. got my license:clap: and he bought me a victory vegas 8 ball last year:bowdown:....goodness talk about handling, speed, getting out the way of people...I loved it BUT almost every time I pulled up to a stop sign, over I would go...on the hwyway bar. Balance issues. I got tired of playing the damsel in distress and having guys stop and help me get it back up so I could ride away like a bat out of hell. It was over 600lbs. It was fun. I love my very first bike but eventually I had to come to terms with the fact I couldn't do it...I cant ride a bike I truly love ,how it looks, feels and rides....soooooooo and with him gone all the time trucking he said he was afraid for me, and if I was honest with myself, I was afraid also that I would screw up sooooooooo he took me to see a can am spyder..rt... intense red. I had a another problem with the vegas everytime I wanted to ride I had to get my courage up to hit the street...NOT HAPPENING with the RT. Instead of my car I am riding that mc out of my garage every time I can...market, gym, just to go get an ice cream cone...I love it
...BUt the reason for this reply I have heat issues. I have questions. and I will tell you this...when its over 100 I don't ride here. Its got to be 100 or lower and sort of cloudy...1. are there moveable vents/louvers I can use on an RT? link? 2. do you have a link for the air conditioning you ordered (shirt) 2b Does it really keep you cool? 3. do you use a full face or half helmet...my full face is sooo heavy...looking for a lighter helmet. As for your head heating up, get a buff (I know what the hell is a buff) here is a link from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=buff, I have about a dozen different ones so I can match my mood. LOL. Anyways, wet it down with cold water and put it on your head (yes you look like a cancer patient, but whatever), it will prevent your head from overheating. Yes, the shirt really does work, it is a little expensive, but yes it works.
I always carry extra bottles of water on ice so if it drys out I can rewet it, but honestly just wetting it works too, the cold water just makes it last long. You can also get a frogtog and wet that and put in around your neck, the collar of your jacket will hold it in place. That will help to keep your core cool, plus the vest and the buff you shouldn't even notice the 100 degrees outside.
When it comes to heat, I've learned to control it the best I can. My daughters love the fact that they get handed ice cold water and get the command dump it over my head (LOL) it makes them feel empowered! I hope this helps and please!!!!!!!! send me a PM. So they changed my medication again because the tremors are out of control. About week after starting the new medication I looked at Erik and said I don't want a Spyder, I can't do it. About a month later, Erik look at me and said stop taking the new medication, it is turning you into a vegetable, you just lay in bed and don't want to do anything. Stop it now!!!!!!!! He was right, I stopped working on store, lost interest in doing anything other than going to work and going to bed. The meds are out of my system now, so I am more active and trying to rebuild things that I let go.
I know that it might sound crazy. I work a full time job 40+ hours a week running an IT Department and I run an online store selling Vintage and Antiques, actually I'm expanding into a handmade section and making Rosaries, which I have to say a little difficult with the tremors, but they help me to train myself to control the tremors so I will continue down this road. We are also in the process of expanding past the Etsy store and we are going to start hosting online estate auction using our own Auction web site (not ebay). I am hoping that the auction site, plus the Etsy Store will give us enough that I stop the full time job and have some breathing room, since disability is not an option.
So am I still search for a Spyder, YES..........., but I never completed my test ride to see if I am physically capable of riding, so we are back on that road too.
So in summary, medicine is bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I should have learned my lesson the first time. I need to control these tremors and MS all on my own!!!!!!

I have had MS for 30 years and has not stopped me from riding, I have to ride early in the morning then close to sunset here in Texas, I have balance problems, I was almost in a wheel about 12 years ago, I am on Tysabrie and it has really helped, I have been on all the medications and this one works, Fatigue is my worse problem, weakness and heat is the worst of all.

My wife was also diagnosed with M.S. when she got the news about 6 years ago she shifted gears. She is not one to say why me. She said no it's our turn. She had me go get my motorcycle license never owned a bike. Got my license and a year later we bought a 2014 RT. She has never had so much fun and laughter. Yes the heat and the cold are a fine line for her. But to see the smile on her face after a ride is all that matters for those few hours. Here is a few pictures of her helmet and my vest to show support for all those who suffer with M.S. Wish there were Motorcycle rides supporting people with M.S.

Try to come if you can; we would love to meet you, Spyder or no Spyder (my sister is making this rally happen). I'm also pretty sure that one of our Spyderlovers with an RT would be glad to let you ride one. I'm not sure if I will be taking my RT or my F3, but you would be welcome to try either one.
There is also a company that makes actual air conditioning to use on a motorcycle; I don't remember the name, but I remember seeing it online. My sister has the coolshirt also and loves it, but if it ends up not working for you, you may want to check into the ac unit.
Schronce Powersports in Taylorsville NC has at least one used RT, and an ST. John, the owner, is absolutely great, and will do anything he can for you. Call him at 828-632-3147 when you're ready. Tell him Anita sent you. If you come to the rally, perhaps you could stop by to meet him either coming or going. Heck, he may come to the rally just to meet you; he's that kind of guy. We also have a dealership sponsor for the rally, Matthews Fun Machines. They also would be glad to answer any questions you would have; they are nice guys, too.

Update on the adventure, Introducing Peanut
Good Morning All,
I went MIA again. I can make a lot of excuses, but will re-frame. So my oldest daughter (19) decided in February that she was going to move to CO to live with a guy that she met on craigslist..... she is not in MO living with another guy that she met on craigslist because the first guy was creepy..... We have to keep her on our insurance, but she is an adult and we don't have a say in anything else. She is alive and safe. That is all I will say on that one.
So Erik's Dad is fully moved in and miserable. The house too cold (because we keep it at 68 degrees year round for the MS) and falling apart. Well we are not fixing the house because we are still underwater on it after the crash and when the bank comes to take it back, they have it as is.... stupid HARP does help people with good credit that make their payments, so we are just paying the mortgage, trying to get the principal down, so we can refinance and get out of this stupid loan that we were talked into.
Which leads to the store, half of all proceeds from the store go to the principle of the mortgage, we have worked really hard, we were $250,000 underwater when the crash occurred, we are just under $50,000 now. So for now the old man will have to deal will old crappy windows, an out of date kitchen and everything else that is wrong with our house. 3 more years it will be banked owned or it will be resolved and we can continue fixing the house, I think we can do it, but the Christmas sales have sucked!!!! I don't know what happened but I am working on fixing it.
So I found this, I know I am underwater on the house and going to buy a Spyder, but life is short and MS sucks so if it will make me feel better Erik and I agree it is worth it!

I personally think the price is a little high for a 2012 and here is why:
1. It was purchased in July with 1,577, so either someone used it as a personal vehicle or you’ve had a lot of inexperienced riders take her for a test ride for almost 500 miles.
2. It is a 2012 SE5, which means it has the old 5 speed engine (that likes to catch fire)
3. The engine hasn’t even been broken in and she is now out of warranty, that is not a plus to me.
4. Other dealers with new models with more features, are asking for less:

Glad that you're back... :thumbup:Shifting an SE-5 is really easy...
You just use your left thumb, to upshift...
And your left index finger, for downshifting!
The bike WILL downshift on it's own, if you choose to let it do that.
(The computer is always reading the rpm levels; so it can figure these sorts of things out!)

Shifting is easy with the SE - you press the + paddle with your left thumb to change up; & you either press the - paddle with your left forefinger to change down or you let the Spyder's computer decide that you are about to be nasty to the motor/gear box & it'll change down itself!! Simples! 
The SE transmissions are exactly the same gearboxes as the manual transmissions, except they have a different clutch & a different change mechanism. The 'earlier than 2014' 5 speeders have a centrifugal clutch that needs about 3500 revs to fully engage (but it starts engaging at about 100 rpm over idle) & the V-twin motors aren't running at their most economical or efficiently until over about 4000 rpm anyway & rev out to over 8000 rpm besidefi & they lurve to keep up in the revs too, so that's not a biggie; while the 2014 on 6 speeders have an electric/hydraulic clutch that uses its own oil pump to provide engagement & shifting as directed by your fingers & the electric solenoids, & the triple cylinder 1330 motors have ample low rev torque & less need or desire for revs, so that's not a biggie either!! Both motor/trans combinations have computer controlled rev matching on gear changing, so if you aren't all that great on getting the revs right for your gear changes, the computer will blip the throttle to increase/match revs as necessary to avoid the potential for damaging things, & some ryders complain that the blip can make the Spyder surge momentarily faster on gear changes, particularly down changes; but I find it doesn't ever do that if you get somewhere close to the right revs & instigate the change down yourself - plus it makes for more & safer control over your ryding, so why not change down yourself as well as up??
All up, the SE's are & have/do all the good things about the SM manuals with a few even better ideas thrown in too, & not only do you have a choice to let it change itself down as & when necessary, but you can also choose to take full control of your gear changing without the need for exercising & operating a clutch lever & getting that right (or stuffing it &/or breaking something!) I'd suggest that it won 't be all that much longer before you find manual change gearboxes with a hand operated clutch & foot selector go the way of the rest of the dinosaurs.... :shocked: :clap:

Thank you for all of the information. I would prefer a manual, but with the MS and my hand strength, I can't hold the clutch in, which is why I am only look at the SE models. I want to shift and down shift, to me that is part of the joy of riding, if that makes sense.

Shifting an SE-5 is really easy...
You just use your left thumb, to upshift...
