• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

The Adventure Begins, Riding with MS!!!!!!! This is going to be long one......

I got the cool shirt system last week and Erik took me out on the Harley to test it out on Saturday. We rode for about 30 minutes to go to lunch and then back home. The system worked!!!! Erik said he was sweating and I was conformable. I wasn't hot, or cold, just comfortable. :D

The only negative thing I can say about the system is it builds condensation fast, so you shirt does get wet. See pictures below, I know the one looks obscene. Also when you disconnect the hoses, water that remains in the tubes pours out. Being aware of that, I know not to hold it in my lap when disconnecting from the unit. LOL

We did find a new complication and I don't know if was just the Harley or it will be all motorcycles, but 5 minutes into the ride my hip went into a spasm. I spent yesterday in bed because it hurt too much to walk. So we are adding another step into this process. I am going to rent a Spyder for a day and see if I have the same issue. I found a place in Fairfax, about 30 minutes from my house that allows daily rentals for $260 a day. If you have a better suggestion, I am open to ideas. :D

So the process continues and I am moving today but still sore.

 I'm glad to hear that it worked so well for you! :D
As far as the hip: it might have just been the Harley's seating position, but it never hurts to investigate it fully.
Let us know how your day on the rental ride goes! :2thumbs:

A suggestion for combating hip spasms (ask me how I know). Bring along a couple pads to play with concerning height. If you have a sheepskin or an AirHawk--they can be helpful. I have used one or the other, or both, depending on the "pain of the day." Most times, one of the combinations will allow me to do a daily ride. You get the hip positioned just right--and sometimes you are good to go.

Thank you, I will look into that. The part that sucks is once it starts it doesn't stop until the MS has decided I have paid enough for whatever stupid thing I did to make it start to begin with! :banghead:

My wife also has MS and loves to ride with me. She is affected by the heat and can only be out for a short times which is very frustrating for her. I am considering the cooling vest for her. Could you tell me what model and where did you got it. The one you had on the picture appears to have a smaller pack then the ones I saw on line. With her on the back I'm not sure where I put the pack on the RT.

We purchased the system on Amazon. It weighs about 3 pounds when full. I wore it as a messenger bag on my side with no issues.

So I contact Coleman's yesterday and asked them about a test rider, so I could see how I did on the Spyder. The salesman told me that they only allow test riders on the used models, so I would have to take manual for a test ride. Now I don't know about you but if I go to buy a car, I don't test drive a used similar model to the one I want and I definitely, don't take a manual out if I am looking to get an automatic.

Does this seem right to yall?

I suppose that folks are swapping in their "SM" bikes, and becoming as "shiftless", as the rest of us! :D
Do they have any "Program bikes", that the sales staff is riding? My dealership usually has one of them bombing around... They don't LIKE to loan it out; but will if circumstances warrant it...

Thanks for the info, I think we look in to this. It may help my wife with longer rides.

It it might help her participate in family functions too. My daughter softball games kill me and now I can regulate my body tempature without duping water over my head ever five minutes. :yikes:

I'm glad to see that you might have found one!
The ST is a re-configured version of "Stealth Billie"
Here's some pictures of the seating positions:

I hope that this helps!

MS

I too have Multiple Sclerosis, I was diagnosed in 1996 but I still continue to ride. I will ride early in the morning or late in the evening, I am 53 years old and riding is still in my blood. The only Medicine that keeps me going is Tecfadera and my Spyder because my balance is not too good. I have been retired 12 years and on Social Security disability, I find the Spyder to be one of my life lines.
