I have a new RT-S, swapped my Goldwing so the wife could/would ride along. I installed a trailer hitch, aux fuse panel and wiring for my heated clothing. Finished all that button it up, started the engine and had a VSS light.
Checked fuses, disconnected the battery for a short time, still had the light. Took it for a short spin, it ran fine, no limit to the speed, and no orange dash, but still had that pesky VSS light.
Made a quick trip to the dealer, who informed me I had forgotten to connect the plug on the underside of the seat, whew! Lesson learned
pps:!
On the bright side, all my trailer lights work properly and so does my auxiliary license plate brake light.
