Testing BEST warranty for first time

Took the Ol'GS into the dealer to have the new Toyo put on the rear and inspection done and they found the water pump was leaking.

I haven't had to use BEST on the GS.... BEST runs until April 2014 for me due to buying my 08 in 09.

Many have debated whether BEST was worth the cost and I felt it was after pricing AAA towing for a bike versus BEST. Best basically provided similar coverage for the same cost over time with the added benefit of buffering future repair cost.

So... My GS has never left me stranded and has had many of the expected issues over time. I'm kicking myself for not having a water pump on hand as I almost ordered one last year as many have had them go or leak on their Spyders. :banghead: Now I have to wait for the dealer to get one in.

So I'm happy with my investment in BEST so far and I typically do not by extended warranties on anything.

Hmm...I guess I missed the info on water pump problems. But, like you, I do carry a spare coolant tank on trips!

I only buy extended warranties on items that get moved around. I've had 2 car stereos replaced under them...and I even got better stereos when they were replaced! (the warranties were by price and prices had gone down)

BEST has been very good to me. It even covered my broken rear shock last year...which I would have thought was a "wear item". That may have been due to my dealership...they are an excellent group. :thumbup:

Oh yeah...you'll really like that Toyo. I like mine much better than the Kumho I had before it.

Seen several of those pumps go or start leaking... not sure it is pump or seal... Seen many here that had that coolant "Connector" go bad... It is like a two into one hollow plastic part... I actually ordered and have one of those plus my coolant tank and cap... I seem to recall us both presenting ours for inspection at the BBQ?

Ah well. Last year was a rough year on the old girl... Vermont roads beat her up bad, and I'm up twenty pounds... :shocked:
