• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Test ride next week!

Hope you get a good deal on one.

Glad to have you here. Hope you enjoy your test ride next week and get a heck of a deal when purchasing one. If I may make two suggestions. 1) When you go for your test ride, the handling of this machine is very very sensitive. Just remember to hold the handlebars loosely. It will track down the road easily on it's own. Any input into the steering will move this machine quickly in that direction. 2) Purchase an extended warranty. JMHO. Jerry

I REALLY appreciate all the great advice I have received here. I am definitely planning on purchasing an extended warranty. I would not even have considered it were it not for all of you folks strongly recommending it, so that is a particularly valuable little nugget of information!

I was kind of leaning towards an RT, but my dealer doesn't have any leftover 2010s, and I just can't justify the full MSRP for a 2011. So it's quite likely (unless they sell it this weekend) I'll end up with a 2009 RS SE5. Since I want a tall windshield and bar risers right off the bat, the savings from buying the '09 RS instead of a '10 RS-S should cover those items as well as the warranty. ;)

Man you live in a beautiful place to ride a spyder. :2thumbs: Great country. When I lived in the Denver area, I used to travel to Durango on business and loved it.

Glad to see you found us, Jo!!

If the dealer has any space in the parking lot, dare I say it?? Do a few circles and figure 8's!! (private joke)!! Even that little bit of practice at slow speeds will help you when you are moving faster and negotiating a turn on the road.

Hope you have a blast of a demo ryde!!! Mucho welcome to our little corner of the internet here on SpyderLovers.com. Best Spyder site on the planet!! Good luck on your hopefully soon to be purchase!

Then, start enjoying the ryding!!!!

 You'll want to take it home right after you Ryde!! :congrats:

I agree with the others - hold the handlebars loosely - it took me a few rydes to relax the"death grip". And I, too, got an extended warranty with the dealer.

LOL! The salesman told me to plan on at least a couple of hours for the demo, because they do a little "training" in their parking lot before they take you out on the road for your demo ride. I was happy to hear it!

You may want to check out the for sale section of this forum. There are a few 09 RS SE5's for sale with extras for around 15000. Not many miles with the recalls already taken care of and warranties left. Just a thought. Enjoy!!!

I'll definitely check those out. They'd have to be pretty near me - I'm not really in a position to travel far to get one. One day out and back round trip (no overnight) is the most I could manage.
