• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hello all,

I hope that your final days of 2013 are flowing by smoothly like a lazy Sunday in the south...

I took my syder in today for the 9300 mile check up(I have 10,500 miles on it :yikes:) and as I was leaving, the service manager let me know that the 2014 that he was getting to test came in today. Minus all of the details, a few waivers later and I was on it seeing what the fuss was all about. Unfortunately it was late in the day and the shop closed in about 45 minutes and traffic was bad so if I would have attempted to get on a freeway I may have not got back in a timely manner so I did some residential riding. I never got to experience the 6th gear but I will next time. I will tell you for me the shifting was really smooth and so was the handling. It was tight, tighter than my RS-S for sure(now I am not sure if they have done the lasar alignment on it or not because they told me they offer it now). One other thing I noticed that had less to do with the year and more to do with a touring vehicle was the tall windshield. It felt so good to avoid some of the wind with the temperature being in the low 40's. Now comes the things that you will be surprised to hear: For me the 2014 RTS was not a comfortable seating position. The raised bars and downward sloped foot position made me feel stuffed in a box and unable to stretch my arms. My RS-S with the standard bars and Rivco floor boards is a lot more comfortable for me. I am a tall guy so that may have a lot to do with it. Also, I have grown used to just raising the back of my right foot to brake. Having to pick my entire foot up each time got old real fast. Based on my limited ride I think it handles great and will be an excellent ride for people under 6'4 in height. One other side note, I hate to admit it but the way it gets out I wonder if it will give my RS-S a run for it's money on a track.

Thank you for posting. I look forward to hearing the ryde reviews covering all the aspects of the new 2014. Since I have to wait until March or so, it is good to hear from others.
