Just what the world needs. A bike that is faster than hell for 3 seconds and then plumb boring after that and the ergonomics and appointments of a moped.
Ok, I'll admit it, I was seriously considering a Tesla Model S P85D. The acceleration 0-60 is very impressive for a big 4 door sedan. But other than that, the car had the handling and interior appointments of a toyota corolla for $125,000. Decided I would be pretty bored with it in very short order. I am not an ecoweinnie and eco-weinnie's do not care about performance nor do they ride crotch rockets. Its just a bad fit.
Much like the hybrid cars before them, pure electric vehicles are a bridge technology that will pass. Heavy and expensive batteries with limited range and long recharge times are not the future.
Once you understand that hydrogen for fuel cell vehicles is not a fuel but rather an energy storage medium, it becomes much easier to see hydrogen fuel cell vehicles as the end goal finally replacing internal combustion engines. All of the driving dynamics improvements of electric drive, range and refueling advantages of liquid fuel vehicles and as green as the electricity source used to make the hydrogen.
Ok, my thoughts for the day on alternative fuel vehicles.
