• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tempture for riding

Hello Remember: Long time no see or hear. Hope everything is well with you folks.

Snow and ice have finally come to our road, so it looks like the :spyder2:'s will be parked for the season. Only 6 more months to riding season--providing the snow melts in early April.

Hey dwayne,

Been a busy few months for us, riding season ended way to early for us. The last real ride we took was back in July, after that we had family here (did get them on the spyder for a short ride) and then caribou and moose season took over any time off we had. Made a few short rides to the store and a ride or two to work, but no joy rides. Kind of feel like we were ripped off with the all the rain in the late summer. Guess it's called the great state of Alaska..;) Hope we get more miles in next year. I have checked in on the Alaska thread every once in awhile to see if you guys got much riding in. BTW, thanks for opening our eyes to Glacier view, probably been there a half dozen times already. My new favorite place to stop when I am out that way.

Glad to hear back from you folks. I stopped posting information and pictures about our weekly rides because there did not seem to be to much site interest. One or two views, no comments, most of the time. I am going to add a few more pictures to the Alaska Gallery that we took on some of our other rides.

Linda put 5000 miles on the new :spyder2: from July to season end--so I think that was a good feat for her.

Another place I found that has Glacier View beat, is the Longrifle lodge just down the road. It looks like a dump from the road--but you will be pleasantly surprised if you go into the restaurant. Its about as "Alaskan" as they come. Full of critter mounts and other Alaska decor. Also the best view of the glacier I have seen from the road. Food is also great.

the coldest I have road in was -40F, and at 100mph that is damn cold, I go about 4 miles heated garage to heated garage to work, at work at 630pm and leave at 6am, that run was before a heated vest I got on here.

I put sandbags under my wheelchair bracket and a snowtire on the back that you have to get a slightly smaller one because there are none in the stock size.

I will have to say it works WAY better than I ever expected, the main issue is the traction control screws you on getting going but it helps a ton with stopping and cornering in the ice and snow of the great white north. There are only a few on here I talk to about riding year round up north and its takes quite a bit of planning for humans and well IF you don't know I am crazy.

 You are a GOD among the ice people...
