• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

i can remember way back when, a older friend of mine got his first cell phone, and said it didn't work because there was no dial tone

Well....

At least this is one we can handle without taking a two year course in....:roflblack::roflblack:

This must be a new model otherwise the first 2 characters of phone number on the "dial" would be RO instead of 76, typically identifying the city or county it was located in. Remember when?

That may have been so in New York, but in general, there was a "prefix" then a 5-digit number. In the phone company language, it was NNX-XXXX, with the Ns being the prefix, NNX denoting the exchange, and the last four Xs being the line number. Our phone number was CE8-xxxx, with CE meaning "Cedar", but we only had to dial 5 digits, since our town only had the one exchange.

Our Town had the same setup..."XT5"
We started out only having to dial 4 digits; eventually, they added the "5", and finally, the "98"
