• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Teaser?

Olddog thanks to 900Dave I have found your post. I don't know what to say, because before I saw that teaser pic, I was all gearing up to place a deposit on F3 S shortly, but that pic has changed things and I will now join the waiting game with others to see what develops from this teaser pic later this year. Shocked I am but excited to see what happens.

See Bob's post above! The RS(S) is now no longer in production as far as I can make out from speaking with dealers here and in the US.
They can no longer be ordered.
Maybe they cannot be ordered because there are no more of the old models available because they have begun production on the new design. Just a thought.

WAKE ME

WAKE ME WHEN BRP INTRODUCES THE F4....
YOU KNOW, THE 4 CYLINDER WITH 1800cc's.....

EVER NOTICE THAT 90% OF ALL CARS WITH
'HANDICAP' LICENSE PLATES ARE BUICKS......
let's not go in that direction.... duh... :gaah:

That was the way I took it. I cannot see BRP stopping the production of the RS unless they were coming up with newer model. It is the cheapest model that you can buy, most exhilarating ride, and in my opinion the most aesthetically looking of all the Spyder models. Granted I have not had that much time on the F3. (only about 45 mins).

And a new design is very much due.... There hasn't been a major upgrade to the original 08 RS model. Just little wrinkles here and there.

Based on the factory tour I was on last year in May. They were at 1/4 production rate at the time and only building dealer orders with production shutting down in mid to late June. So I would assume that production has about to or likely stopped for the 2015 Model year. This would be for all Spyders no matter the model since they are all made on the same assembly line.

Yup... This is the time of year that they swap over to other stuff that needs to be built...

Darren,
Does that look like a twin-cylinder engine underneath the bodywork? I wonder if it's the 600 ACE? :dontknow:

Nothing new. This is the text that Can An put on their Twitter feed with the same picture. Last week's picture was in a similar vein, I believe.

@OfficialSpyder: No, it’s not a future Can-Am Spyder model. It’s actually a sketch from the past. #ThrowbackThursday http://t.co/XqzFH7isDE

I think it's pretty clear the Can Am social media folks are following Spyderlovers. The teaser thread from last week and the which octane to use thread from a couple of weeks ago were both addressed on their social media accounts this week. (In case you missed it, 87 octane minimum required, 91 recommended... Pretty sure it wasn't a case of marketing folks running wild...)
