• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So I was reading a couple of posts I searched on here, and felt guilty I wasn't showing my 2012 Spyder RTS any love in the winter months while it was parked in my garage and covered. So yesterday was a beautiful day as far as winter in these parts goes, I decided it would be best if I hooked it up to a battery minder for the day, and then start it for a few minutes. Well she started up right away, and was little a rough running for about 10 seconds (yes I used fuel stablizer). It surged up and down between 1000 and 1600 rpm, and then it just purred. Music to my ears. I will try and do this once a month until I can get back on the road in April. Oh ya, mother nature killed my wishful thinking, by bringing a winter storm the next morning. NICE! April seems so far away.

I know how you feel. I have been going out about 2 times a month and starting my spyder just to let it run a bit. Yesterday was in the mid 40's and sunny. If there had not been any snow on the road I would have been out ryding.

I may just back mine out of the garage today to gaze at it's beauty for a while...
Then I've got to wash the Missus' MINI... :gaah:

It really isn't very good to periodically start a vehicle in storage...especially cold storage. You need to run it long enough to get the oil to full operating temp for long enough to evaporate any collected condensation, which would overheat the coolant if just sitting. You also need to distribute the oil over the clutch and transmission parts thoroughly, which cannont be done without riding it and shifting gears. In addition, starting it periodically lowers the fuel level, so it is no longer topped off to prevent condensation in the fuel tank. Unless you can ride for at least 15-30 minutes, then top off the fuel tank (and stabilize the added fuel), resist the urge.

Thanks for the advice. I will have to find other ways to get my fix :chat:

Great advice! Will do. I felt neglectful for not even putting a battery charger on it for the last 3.5 months. I was surprised it had any juice.

A little out of it today

I know I have posted on this thread several times, but maybe my brain is tired. You see, when I looked at the thread title just now I thought It said TASER. I was really wound up about watching someone getting knocked down and wetting themselves.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Just noticed that this is post #400 :2thumbs:
