• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I will be adding the photos of BajaRons new SwayBar links in a few minutes. These look great , They are the exact dimensions. And they install very easy. Just remove the old by removing the top and bottom bolt and install the opposite way.

No Problems at all. Tomorrow Ill be putting the Bar and the Links to the test. Im going to try to mount one of my cameras under there so that we can watch the suspension in action.

Also, I believe these are prototypes. So that means yours would be even better and more refined.

The rusted bar is the test bar that I ran without powder coating. No worries. The one you will get is going to be beautiful and black powder coated.

These the same for all years?

As far as the Links are concerned ,,, I believe the answer is yes. BajaRon will have to confirm this but I remember him answering yes to this somewhere else.

I have 2013 ST and RT and they are the same.

As far as the Bars are concerned ,,,, The answer is no.. They are different thickness between 2013 models. And the older models are completely different shape and design.

And WackyDan, I love Futurerama. Bender is my favorite.

heim.jpgThose don't look like mine . I wonder why he changed them it seems like those may rub the frame on a 2013 like the old plastic ones did. I am guessing he changed them to do away with the spacers.

Yours are great, They are like the ones I fabricated in the mountains when my plastic one broke. He took my design and went to a whole new level with the ones you have. They are chromoly I believe and should last forever. He just made these and Im going to test them tomorrow with my 320 pound body at 90 to 100 in the twisty roads of the forest. These are one piece and look great also.. I think he improves each part over and over till he just cant "build a better one".

I didn't have any issues with them rubbing the frame. I think what most people thought was rubbing the frame was after it broke it would gouge a spot in the plastic. I don't think it would be possible to rub on the plastic at the angles it moves.

Keep an eye on it both my plastic ones rubbed the upper mount on my 2013. I am pleased with mine they CANNOT deflect enough to touch it. They will deflect with time I assure you mine have.

Little different..!!

I remember your post when you made up the replacements on the road...these look like the ones you made..!!20130801_111441.jpg they do have better clearance.

Yep. That's what I was saying in my earlier post. I think Ron took it to the next level with those. The ones I have are what I think will be "revision 2" here is a pic of the one I broke and two other I was running. They have no marks on them at all. The one that broke has a gash in it. But It was because after it broke the bar got against it.

You're a great 'Test Pilot' Robert! Thank you for doing what I can't!

These prototype links are pretty ugly and not the final dimension. I don't think these will rub on the 2013. They may well rub on a pre-2013 but it's not the dimension that I need tested (since the final product will have greater clearance), nor is it the strength (as they should be more than strong enough). We are testing the joint itself (insert and ball fitment) on this one.

Why, you ask, are you testing a new design when the Chrome Moly links you are making now work so well? Why in deed!

And the answer is?

The Chrome Moly links are a great product but they take quite a bit of time to assemble. I am looking to produce a similar quality link with Billet Aluminum that doesn't include the time element. If I can do this I will. If I cannot I will continue to produce the current Chrome Moly units.

 You da man. Good luck hope it works out.

I am about to go out for a ride with the new links and bar on my ST. I would have yesterday but I ended up trading my Ford Raptor off. It tried to run me over a few days ago. Anytime your truck tries to run u over it is time to part ways. I had been complaining about the 9 MPG I was getting anyway. I ended up with the Ford Explorer AWD Ecoboost V6. I believe it has nearly 350HP.
My guy that cuts my grass left his trailer in my turn around spot so i backed into it. No problem, i just pulled up and put it in park to get out and check the damage. Apparently the Raptor didnt go all the way into park and when I got out it rolled back and pinned me in the door jamb. If it were not for bad luck lately I would have no luck. I know I put it in park because u could hear the park pin trying to engage. I finally mashed the emergency brake and it stopped rolling.

That ecoboost v6 is no joke! I had one put the smack down on my 5.7L v8 Jeep! :yikes:

I got him good off the line for a bit, but soon after it was bye bye ford...:D

Wow! There's about twenty ways that this could have gotten uglier...
I'm glad to hear that your quick reactions kept this from being a real issue!
I like your new Buggy too! (Had one of the first model year Explorers!)

Lesson learned, never leave a vehicle in park running. Apply E-brake or better, turn off engine. I have seen the results of two other cars left with the engine running in park and both traveled in reverse and hit something. Thanks for sharing your mistake. Most of us would be too ashamed to post it.

Sorry I just gotta do it. What do you expect from a Ford? :yikes: This coming from a GM retiree. Some thing never change......:roflblack:
