• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

In the last 10 years I've had 6 Harleys, one used 98 Sportster (28000 mi)., one used 99 Electraglide (102000) mi, and 3 new Electraglides, 07(16000 mi) 08(46000 mi) 2014 (8500mi). In July of 15, my wife bought a 15 RT Limited, that she picked over the Harley Tri-Glide and the Freewheeler, both nice machines. She had to go out of town for work and I thought I would get to know her machine a bit since I would be working on it.(maintainence) NEVER would have guessed how much I would love that thing!! Super cool machine! So now I have a 2014 Harley Electraglide Ultra for sale because I preordered a 2016 F-3 Limited:spyder2:. Cant wait till spring. I think it will be a long winter.
I think this a cool thing going on here, I have been reading posts for a while. thanks for reading

All I can say is congratulations, you're going to love it. I just got off riding Harleys, as they are just too heavy for my 76 year old body, and all I can think about is why didn't I do it sooner. My wife says she is more comfortable on it, and I have to admit, I am too. I find that I am now riding more, and don't seem to care if "motorcyclists" don't wave back. Enjoy.

Right there with you buddy ! My Road King Classic is under cover in the Garage and we have found riding the Spyders as enjoyable with less stress to mind and body at the end of the day.

Funny looks are still coming my way as I am still using my Harley logo half helmet and gloves when riding my STL. Oh well :D

H-D Clothing Still Fits

I am also a recent convert from the H-D 2-wheel world - and quite happy with the new F3s. My H-D leather jacket is just too nice to not wear, so I wear it whenever the weather calls for it. :doorag:

I've also noticed several of the 2-wheel riders (Harley and others) still "wave" - but a few look the other way.:sour: No big deal, this :spyder2: is just plain fun, and acceptance by the 2-wheel community was not a purchase criteria. :roflblack:

I think a good test ride like yours sells most of these bikes

Teasing

Congrats........ As for teasing, you can always tell them that you understand that not everyone can handle a Spyder, hence their comments----LOL

if they are busting on your chops a little we just normally ask them how many miles a year they ride? most of the time its less than 5,000 per year. a lot of them it's closer to 1,000 miles a year.

when we tell them we average 13,000 miles a year their eyes shoot out of their heads:yikes:.

and for even further laughs we get a real kick out reading some of their patches that say something like "Live To Ride, Ride To Live" and in the mean time they are trailering their bike :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

teasing

WOW:shocked:
Thanks to all! I am very performance oriented, I like things to work better than they were originally designed. I haven't done a thing to this RTL and its awesome! (wife wont let me touch it, had to get my own) As for the teasing, I let them laugh at my taillight. Wife and I do ride a lot, we are hoping to attend some of these Spyder rallies, I think they sound like a good time!

We sometimes take our Spyder on group rides with our 2 wheeled friends. Initially there was some good natured ribbing, but that stopped once we opened the frunk and brought out a box of cookies to share.

I know how to make sure that you "fit in"... :D

...Hang out with a better group of people!! :2thumbs:

:welcome: Check out the Riding Groups / Clubs on the home page for MN riders, or contact Caswell Cycles in Mora, MN. They have monthly rides, weather permitting. They are a sponsor here. You can find them also on the home page.

Congrats on the bike . We are a lot alike as I have a closet full of HD gearthat I wear as well ( 20 years worth ) but now when someone says anything I tell them its the only dependable HD I now own :D
